If yes, then you might be our new Director - CMC Training, Statistics & Outsourcing.

About the department

As part of Novo Nordisk’s R&D family, CMC Development makes a significant difference for patients with chronic diseases across the world. We develop, manufacture and distribute drug candidates for non-clinical and clinical trials with the help from approximately 1600 CMC employees. We develop and formulate all new protein processes, coming out of our research unit and through that we ensure best-in-class treatments to the market. CMC Development is an ambitious organisation with a strong culture. The primary responsibilities of CMC Training, Statistics & Outsourcing are:

  • Responsible of coordinating and securing CMC outsourcing activities in R&D: selection and approval of CMOs, negotiating and maintaining relevant agreements and ensuring a harmonious and collaborative relationship
  • Protecting Novo Nordisk intellectual property rights while ensuring quality and timely delivery of quality assessments
  • Statistical deliverables to support the filing and documentation of all new Novo Nordisk drug development projects
  • Centralised on-boarding, training, and quality function in CMC Development

The position

As Director you will be in charge of approx. 23 employees with the majority working with outsourcing and statistics. You will lead highly skilled and independent employees with different scientific backgrounds and many years of experience within their field of knowledge. You will be overall responsible for setting the direction, driving change and reaching the department’s business goals. On the people side, you act as competent coach, empowering employees to deliver excellent business results and to take responsibility for their own professional and personal development.

You will manage relationships with key collaborators and stakeholders. You will be responsible for the delivery and the quality of activities within both outsourcing, statistics and training. You will report to the Corporate Vice President (CVP) of CMC Portfolio Management and you can look forward to a role, where you are part of a well-established department where empowerment, teamwork and a can-do approach are dominant values.

Qualifications

You have a high level of energy to drive your organisation and engage your colleagues and employees. You will collaborate and connect closely with leaders from other areas and take an active part in developing our organisation and the way we operate. Strategic and systematic leadership skills are a pre-requisite.

To succeed in this role, you:

  • Have a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Engineering, or other relevant degree and have at least 5 years of experience from the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Have several years of people management experience (5+ years)
  • Have strong communication skills, change management experience and experience with top level interaction
  • Have a good business understanding of manufacturing and R&D environments
  • Are fluent in English written/verbally
