Corporate Strategy is part of Corporate Development at Novo Nordisk, focused on bringing innovative medicines to patients throughout the world and ensuring we are a sustainable business that drives long-term growth. The department is responsible for the development of Novo Nordisk’s corporate strategy and managing a portfolio of high priority strategic initiatives sponsored by the CEO and executive management team. You will join a small, dedicated, and energetic team of colleagues that have a high level of responsibility, exposure and focus from top management, located in Bagsværd, Denmark. The job
You will play a pivotal role in understanding key market dynamics that will impact the business over the strategic time horizon and to provide analytical insights to a variety of cross-functional projects within the corporate strategy portfolio. You will be responsible for analysing diverse data and critical business information from various sources to shape insights and recommendations that enable strategic decisions that will set the direction for future growth. This will require you to be creative and innovative and to use structured thinking and evidence to solve problems where there may not be a pre-defined methodology. In this position, you will be expected to deliver high quality results at pace. This position provides the opportunity to build relationships across the organisation via discussions with key stakeholders to form a point of view on the current state of the business, gather input and data and pressure test conclusions. You will be deeply involved in communicating key insights and analyses to relevant stakeholders in collaboration with teams across different functions throughout the value chain and across geographies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor/master’s degree in Mathematics/Engineering/Business/Economics with analytical experience. Some exposure or experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry and/or management consulting are a distinct advantage. Strong analytical skills, including data analysis, modelling and problem solving are required, including exposure to a wide range of data and analytical concepts and methodologies. This may include market sizing, competitive analysis, primary research, financial modelling and valuation, portfolio review (e.g. where to invest, where to divest) and forecasting. On a personal level, is it important that you can effectively collaborate, providing both input and challenge to cross-functional processes with multiple stakeholders, have solid verbal, written and graphical communication skills, are fluent in English, and have high proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
