The Senior Vice President reports to the CFO and Executive Vice President, Finance, Legal and Global Solutions. The position is based in Bagsværd, Denmark. The Position The General Counsel and Senior Vice President (SVP) for Global Legal & Patents has direct responsibility for Global Legal & Patents (HQ) and the functional responsibility for Global Legal (US and International Operations). The SVP is responsible for legal support to global business across EVP areas. The responsibility of the position includes liaison between Executive Mgmt. and the Board of Directors. The SVP is responsible for ensuring diversity and inclusion in Global Legal & Patents and for the development of leadership, successors, and talents. The SVP is also responsible for occupational health and safety compliance in Global Legal & Patents. Key Responsibilities Legal Support to Global Business across all EVP areas Corporate Governance Litigation Compliance & Competition Law (Anti-Trust) Corporate Patents Business Ethics Compliance (co-responsible) Corporate Trademarks Member of NN Committees, etc. Qualifications
To succeed in this role, we expect you to have: Strong leadership skills and ability to role model our values Ability to set direction and strategy for Global Legal Proven track record in managing business complexity in a matrix organisation A significant level of independence, innovation, and initiative to lead and develop 10+ years of legal practice and/or business management experience Fluency in written and spoken English About the Department Global Legal & Patents is anchored within the EVP area Finance, Legal and Global Solutions area, which reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Novo Nordisk. Global Legal & Patents (HQ) consist of Corporate Legal (Pharma Law, Business Development, Litigation, Legal Compliance & Operations), Global Security, Corporate Patents, and the Board Secretariat. Team size is app. 134 employees in Denmark and India (GBS). In addition, Global Legal consist of US Legal & Patents and International Operations Region Legal & Compliance departments in Region Europe, Region China, Region Japan & Korea, Region Latin America, and Region Middle East & Africa.
