Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a dedicated and highly qualified administrative Project Support Officer to join our team in the Civil Society Unit in Copenhagen. If you are interested in matters relating to civil society engagement and humanitarian work and are experienced and skilled with regard to event management, administration and logistics, you may be the person we are looking for.

About the job

DRC’s Civil Society Engagement Unit has a strategic as well as an operational focus. Under the latter, the Unit currently implements a number of projects centered around capacity enhancement, advocacy, voice amplification and operational support to diaspora-led organisations across Europe. All projects are highly outreach focused, hosting a large and growing number of international events (trainings, workshops, round tables and conferences) in collaboration with external and internal partners. The advertised position will be engaged to support projects across the unit with admin and logistics related tasks, with a special focus on events management.

You will be part of the unit in Copenhagen. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

Direct logistics/admin support to project implementation:

  • Support event logistics (conferences, trainings, round tables etc.) in close collaboration with relevant project managers
  • Support supply chain tasks related to projects
  • Support project-related communication tasks
  • Other ad-hoc administrative support when required

Support to cross-cutting unit activities:

  • Logistics related to unit meetings/events
  • Dynamics focal point for unit for self-service portal
  • Other ad-hoc support when required, across the unit as well as the larger division when relevant

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you are:

  • A person that thrives in a varied support function and enjoys developing procedures and solutions to streamline the administrative tasks of our unit.

  • A systematic person with an eye for detail, who pursues his/her tasks in a pro-active and service-minded manner and strives to get things done.
  • A team player that can self-motivate and works independently, driving his/her own agenda and workplan, and thrives in a fast-paced, complex environment.

Moreover, we expect the following:

Required

  • Educational background within administration with relevant experience
  • 2-3 years of experience of a similar support function with focus on varied admin/logistics tasks and international event management
  • Experience with basic financial management tasks
  • Experience in external and internal communications incl. the development of comms materials
  • Be fluent in both written and spoken English (knowledge of Danish is a strong advantage)
  • Be effective in the use of MS Office

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Arabic, Dari and/or Pashto

We offer

Contract length: 12 months (with a high likelihood of extension)

Salary according to HK agreement.

Duty Station: Copenhagen.

Start date: as soon as possible.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and HK. This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.

Please note that you need to have the right to work in Denmark (through nationality or existing work visa) in order to be considered for this role.
