With the expansion into new therapy areas and a growing pipeline with increased interdependencies across our value chain, it is key to provide consistent analysis and understanding of the product development pipeline towards senior management and Governance. The purpose is to enable strategic decision making by creating transparency and generate insights and impact analysis to support the growth of the portfolio. This role requires a strong combination of strategic, analytical, and collaborative ways of working, focusing on driving strategic portfolio management. Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Lead strategic portfolio projects across our therapy areas to facilitate long-term planning, prioritisation, portfolio forecasting and gap analysis Play a key role in aligning pipeline development with therapy area strategies and long-term ambitions Drive complex analysis on portfolio modelling including what-if analysis and scenario building Develop the Portfolio Partner role to support the product leadership teams to create portfolio insights and transparency at Therapy Area strategy level supporting Governance decision making Connect with Development leadership, Portfolio Management Offices across Novo Nordisk and other cross-functional stakeholders to help structure portfolio activities, discussions, and cross functional alignment You will be engaged in a wide range of governance related tasks as well as ad hoc project management activities, with a broad variety of interactions with key senior stakeholders across the value chain and multiple EVP/SVP areas. Since this is a newly established position, you will have the opportunity to impact and develop the role together with the rest of the team. Qualifications You have a Master’s degree in a relevant field combined with minimum of 5 years of portfolio or investment management experience. In addition, you have: Excellent analytical capabilities based on solid quantitative and qualitative skills (analytical, structural, and conceptual problem-solving) Professionally, you have acquired a strong strategic toolbox from experience at a top-tier management consulting company and/or corporate strategy department The ideal candidate would have relevant experience within portfolio management valuation, developing decision models and driving project prioritisation Ability to work on a strategic/conceptual level, but also getting into the details of our processes and project plans Proven track record in the pharmaceutical industry, with strong experience in collaborating across organisations and cultures and within project management Possesses personal drive, autonomy, self-motivating ability, positive and collaborative mind-set, outgoing and enjoys working in a busy and team-based environment Understanding of drug development in general, or a technical and scientific understanding is a plus Finally, you have a positive “can-do” attitude and thrive in a complex and dynamic environment. The Development EVP area is responsible for driving innovative clinical drug development and regulatory affairs worldwide from phase 2 to product introduction and through life cycle management. We work in global project teams with focus on delivering viable products that make a difference to patients and ultimately benefit society. Our area is a staff function to Development Management reporting to the Development Strategy, Portfolio and Digitalisation CVP unit. It consists of professionals and specialists with backgrounds in science, business, and finance. Development Portfolio Insights & Analysis is responsible for supporting our two governance boards (with members across Novo Nordisk at EVP and SVP level) and for providing portfolio perspectives ensuring solid governance prioritisation and decision making. The team is also responsible for the coordination of risk reporting across therapy areas and portfolio analytics to BoD (Board of Directors) . Working at Novo Nordisk
