Nykode Therapeutics is looking for a highly motivated Director of Toxicology who will lead and drive preclinical toxicology strategies and activities and support ongoing clinical programs.

As Director of Toxicology at Nykode Therapeutics, you will have a broad area of responsibility and an opportunity for a large impact on the lives of patients with cancer.

With direct report to the CSO, you will be part of the project core team and act as a subject matter expert on Toxicology. Moreover, you will play a key role in the oversight and monitoring of toxicology studies conducted at Contract Research Organizations (CROs).

Your main tasks are:

• Lead preclinical toxicology strategies and activities
• Support ongoing clinical programs in phase I-II
• Formulate preclinical toxicology strategies to integrate into Nykode’s future pipeline
• Act as subject matter expert on toxicology in project core team
• Designing, monitoring, reporting, and interpretation of exploratory and regulatory toxicology studies (in vivo/in vitro/non-GLP/GLP) conducted at CROs
• Manage collaborations with CROs and selection of new vendors
• Communicating data internally and contributing/authoring of preclinical safety sections of relevant regulatory documentation
• Engaging with the Research team in Norway to ensure adequate species selection and qualification
• Author high-quality regulatory documents

Your qualifications are several years of experience within toxicology from the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry or a CRO. Experience with both pre-clinical and clinical activities is preferred. Moreover, experience with biologics is required, and experience within the fields of immunology, vaccinology, or antibodies is an advantage but not a demand. Preferably, you have previously worked with CROs and have experience in interaction with regulatory authorities.

Finally, experience with pharmacology is ideal, as the role will contain pharmacological elements.

You have a Master’s Degree in Biology, Human Biology, DVM, or another relevant scientific education. A Ph.D. is preferred but not a requirement.

You are proactive, driven, and able to work independently. Further, you are flexible, open to challenges, and thrive in an entrepreneurial research environment. Finally, you have high ethical standards, are open-minded, and value great attention to detail, where quality is always at the core of your activities.

Traveling: Approx. 1 trip to Oslo each month.
