Network Optimization Manager

Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Network Optimization Manager who will own optimization for our customer contract logistics networks in combination with the full Maersk operations network. As the Network Optimization Manager, you will establish the infrastructure for network simulations, partners with customers and the regional Maersk stakeholders and leads optimizing network performance focusing on speed and cost via projects and network initiatives. These initiatives are focusing on long-term optimization but also short term/tactical activities.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for defining metrics to measure optimization performance and drive continuous improvement. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining the Network optimization infrastructure, in partnership with the system teams, and reports up-to-date and accurate management reports, statistics and analysis.

Other key tasks;
• Own the input factors for the models related to historical/future business trends, cost and network flows.
• Prepare and facilitate the regular strategic network review and update to the management.
• Own the analysis of large data sets to identify optimization opportunities and to drive decisions.
• Assess simulation results and the business impact of trends driving investment decisions.
• Pull and report data from numerous databases (using Excel, Access, SQL and/or other data management systems) and perform ad hoc reporting and analysis.
• Systematically escalate problems or variance in the information and data to the relevant owners and teams and follow through on the resolutions to ensure that they are delivered.
• Scope out requirements for the Maersk technology teams supporting the optimization systems.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Research, Business Analytics, or a related field. You have experience in Project and Program Management, and you have work experience within a network planning or logistics/operations management role.

Other qualifications are:

• 5+ years supply chain, logistics management, e-commerce experience

• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

• Experience in deep dive operational metrics and problem-solving.

• Sound business judgement, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills.

• Ability to prepare, report and interpret large sets of planning data.

• 5+ years of experience with Excel (Pivot Tables, VLook) and SQL

• 5+ years of experience working with IT professionals.

• Strong proficiency to communicate and negotiate in English.
