Job purpose:

The Data Ethics Compliance Manager will play a pivotal role within the Compliance Programme Implementation team. This role will be coordinating a complex stakeholder landscape to successfully advance the implementation of a Data Ethics compliance framework aimed at embedding Data Ethics in our technology and culture.

The Data Ethics Compliance Manager will develop and operate a Data Ethics Compliance Framework leveraging and aligned with the already existing frameworks for other compliance areas supported by the Compliance Programme Operations team. The related projects or activities will vary in type, size and complexity. Also, the type and level of contribution by the Data Ethics Compliance Manager can vary: some topics require a focus on coordination and stakeholder management, while others will require dedicated content development. A roll-up-your-sleeves attitude is of the essence for this role. Examples of activities:

  • Support the design and roll-out of baseline internal controls on Data Ethics risks

  • Analyze relevant business and functional data and processes (including IT/systems processes)

  • Develop reporting on key findings on risks and mitigating actions in an easy-to-understand user-friendly format

  • Coordinate the development and execution of training and communication activities

  • Develop and maintain various compliance tools and guidance

  • Ensure integration of relevant compliance processes and controls for new acquisitions


The Data Ethics Compliance Manager will work cross-functionally in close alignment with partner functions such as Data Ethics, Technology, Legal and Compliance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Project and roadmap delivery for topics as described above

  • Ensure alignment with overall programme operations framework and identify synergies

  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders, build and maintain long-term working relationships

  • Become a trusted partner for the related stakeholders

  • Manage difficult situations and safeguard implementation timelines and quality

  • Develop strong business and product understanding and be recognized as a business partner



Required Experience & Skills:

  • Experience in the management of international projects

  • Ability to demonstrate leadership and influencing skills

  • Collaborative work style which fosters cooperation, teamwork, and stakeholder management; will break down silos.

  • Exceptional time management to manage multiple priorities


  • Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment, with an ability to understand the effect of decisions overall in the company

  • Understanding of and experience interacting with the compliance areas data privacy and data ethics as well as an understanding of related systems landscapes

  • Good understanding of compliance processes and compliance governance structures

  • Strong capacity to coordinate and translate between various stakeholders with the objective of timely and successful project delivery
