On behalf of our client, BioMar Group, we are searching for an experienced team manager and leader with a successful track record of implementing global programs for continuous improvement.
Background:
The position is a widening of a role which has become vacant due to the last post holder moving to a COO role in an international manufacturing business.
Over the last few years, the BioMar Manufacturing & Technology Team has been tasked with designing and deploying advanced Manufacturing IT into its portfolio of plants to prepare the essential infrastructure for leveraging Operational Excellence.
The role of Head of Global Manufacturing Excellence is anticipated to build on the work of this team to continue the roll-out of these systems, in parallel with leading, developing and deploying a Global Program for Continuous Improvement across our Operations. This is a significant change management challenge, requiring interaction across functions and geographies.
BioMar will shortly launch a new 5-year strategy for the Group; one of the core pillars of the new strategy relates to Operational Excellence across BioMar. The Executive Committee and Board of Directors fully support this.
Key Responsibilities:
As Head of Global Manufacturing Excellence, you will develop and deploy the global design model for operational and process performance at BioMar. You will lead the Manufacturing IT team in a transformation to a Manufacturing Excellence team. You will build strong relationships and partnerships with local manufacturing teams to advance operational maturity across the enterprise.
The right person to join our team:
Has a strong ability to lead a diverse team, has a continuous improvement mindset, has sufficient knowledge of the manufacturing IT space, demonstrates total ownership and accountability; demonstrates the ability to plan, execute, control, and deliver.
In this position, you will have a considerable influence on how to develop your team, methods, and results. The most important daily responsibilities are:

In this position you need to have good coordination, communication, and analytical skills, enabling you to communicate across organizational levels and take the lead driving our shared, global approach within Manufacturing Excellence. Travelling will be a natural part of the role, working with local production sites as well as the global organization, and around ninety annual travel days should be expected.
You will report to the Director, Manufacturing & Technology.

- Implementation of a cross-functional program to develop continuous improvement competencies across the organization.
- Leading the manufacturing excellence/continuous improvement program across the organization and develop strategic initiatives for implementation.
- Evaluate and lead the selection of continuous improvement projects.
- Provide leadership, guidance and change management to local teams in support of continuous improvement projects across the organization.
- Work with Executive leadership to prioritize continuous improvement initiatives to support organizational objectives.
- Develop and implement metrics to monitor results of continuous improvement programs and projects and report to executive leadership.
- Management responsibilities include the selection, development, performance management and continuous recalibration of staff; ensure appropriate staffing levels and resource allocation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering.
- Ten years’ experience implementing continuous improvement programs with a proven track record of significant business benefits achieved.
- Ability to influence, enable, and lead change within large organizational units.
- Knowledge of Manufacturing IT, PLC, SCADA etc.
- Experience leading and managing others.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in areas related to continuous improvement or process improvement
- Experience from the feed industry
- Lean/Six Sigma experience
- Change management experience improving large systems
- Learning/GMP experience
