My name is Pernille Krogh-Meyer, and I am the Chief Information Officer for Svitzer. One of our talented leaders in my team is soon going on maternity leave, and I am looking for someone who can cover for a full year in her role heading up the Business Engagement and Delivery function.

As a Head of Business Engagement and Delivery, you will be leading a diverse team of six employees with five different nationalities, of which one team member is based in Sydney and the rest in Copenhagen. The team is responsible for delivering IT projects and changes to our application portfolio as well as partnering closely with our colleagues in various areas across the business to understand the future demand and delivery. Furthermore, you will be responsible for driving the portfolio overview of our technology projects and ensure that we have the right governance in place for selecting the future projects aligned with our strategy.

Svitzer is a towage company, which means we help our customers maneuver their larger ships safely and timely in and out of port. We operate globally. Most of our business is to support container vessels, cargo ships, cruise ships and navy vessels but we also deal with emergencies like vessels being adrift or offshore fires. Your team is a valued partner to our business process owners and in close collaboration they craft the future vision for the applications, create proposals and roadmaps on how existing and new applications within their portfolio areas can enable the underlying performance of our company even further and result in greater value. You will be driving portfolio management and governance for the technology portfolio besides leading your team.

Key responsibilities

  • Leading the Business Engagement and Delivery function and proactively drive team engagement
  • Empower, support, and develop the team with coaching and opportunities for growth
  • Being part of and contribute to the Svitzer Technology Leadership team
  • Ensure project and application change delivery from the function aligns with priorities
  • Drive portfolio management of technology projects and changes (ensure balanced selection, prioritization and control of changes and projects in line with strategic objectives and capacity to deliver, while optimizing return on investment)
  • Regular Portfolio updates & Application roadmaps
  • Cost control - Overview and tracking of Portfolio Budget/forecast. Create transparency of Change cost, identifying cost saving opportunities and implementing cost efficient solutions.
  • Further build partnering with functions across business areas (trusted partner).

We are looking for

Someone who is enthusiastic about working in the sweet spot between technology and business driven by the vision to enable more business value and outcomes via technology. You love working as a leader and to develop your team, you take ownership for your area of responsibility and contribute to transforming and improving the way we work in the technology organization.

Your background is related to technology with demonstrated ability in similar roles where you lead teams and potentially also having worked within project management previously. You understand different delivery methodologies, including agile and can use that knowledge to coordinate and empower a team. You are a team player and believe in a collaborative approach to delivering value.

It is important you communicate in a clear, concise, professional way and are fluent in English. You build strong professional relationships with your key partners and function as a link between business and developers and/or vendors. You ensure we prioritize changes that bring the highest business value via portfolio management. You have experience with building plans and roadmaps to keep an overview.
