Lead Platform Architect (Copenhagen/Bangalore/Pune)

We are currently looking for a Lead Platform Architect for our Network Optimisation Platform based in Copenhagen – Denmark or Bangalore/Pune - India.

The opportunity is not limited to working with exciting technology but to also solve complex problems, many of which are for the first time in the industry. Further, you will play a leading role in transforming an over 100-year-old industry leading company to be a technology driven company.

Key Responsibilities

As a Lead Platform Architect, you will be responsible for the architecture of the Network Optimisation Platform at Maersk.

You will work with product managers, designers, science, and business teams to understand the problems and opportunities to come up with the best architecture. You will be effective by being hands-on and engage with engineers in the product teams.

More specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Architecture to build and optimize the operational network for shipping and logistics business
  • Architecture to manage vessel schedule management capability and leverage predictive and prescriptive analysis to improve reliability
  • Deprecating mission critical legacy application by rethinking the capability as a set of microservices
  • Ensuring adherence to DevSecOps in all architecture and design decisions
  • Actively looking to leverage Machine Learning models to improve resilience and reliability of the business operations and using Artificial Intelligence to make automated decisions
  • Working with other platforms and Enterprise Architecture to think ahead and enable acceleration of company’s transformation
  • Working with product teams and SRE teams to ensure right design choices are made and coach, where necessary
  • Designing and implement frameworks to drive engineering excellence
  • Coaching and mentoring engineers in the product teams
  • Working with Cloud Engineering, SRE teams and product teams to ensure adoption of shared services such as monitoring, observability, CI/CD pipelines
  • Driving regular optimisation of cloud cost consumption
  • Actively look for opportunities to leverage open source and ensure contribution to open source
  • Independently validate ideas by writing PoCs or other means

We are looking for –

  • Prior experience in building large scale distributed systems in global organization
  • Proven track record of building high performance environments and enabling word-class development organisations achieve best practice time-to-market
  • Skilled stakeholder management experience
  • A leader who has a good grasp of Engineering Excellence, business understanding as well as delivering pragmatic cost-effective incremental Architecture
  • Ability to envisage horizontally scalable, distributed, resilient solutions
  • Need to have a solid understanding of Agile DevOps ways of working
  • Build strategic working relationships, provide thought leadership and influence others.
  • Impactful communication and influencing key decision makers & stakeholders
  • Articulating vision and translating strategies into execution.
  • Leading by example and ability to work across geographies
