We are currently looking for a Senior Engineering Manager who could be based in Copenhagen - Denmark, Maidenhead - UK or Bangalore/Pune - India.

The opportunity is not limited to working with exciting technology but to also solve complex problems, many of which are for the first time in the industry.

About the opportunity

The Engineering Manager formally manages 2-4 scrum teams (e.g. in terms of performance management) and provides the technical direction. The Engineering Manager is responsible for quality assurance e.g. code and feature quality. Work with organisational resources outside team to remove impediments and protect them from organizational bureaucracy. The Engineering Manager coaches the team and the Platform Product Owner on the Agile process, such as writing useful user stories and managing the backlog.

• Responsible for providing technology leadership to the engineering team to ensure products and platform services get built based on defined specifications and industry best practices in a timely manner
  
  
• Delivery accountability and implementation ownership of solutions for our vessels including both inhouse engineered and 3rd party products
  
  
• In charge of defining processes & systems to manage workstreams that include software engineering
  
  
• Drive compliance & adherence to processes amongst the staff
  
  
• Work with product owner, scrum masters and the scrum team do release and sprint planning and provide team commitments accordingly

What we're looking for

• Industry experience with extensive knowledge in architecting and/or developing and delivering end-to-end products/solutions. Solid experience in managing 2-3 scrum teams
  
  
• Expertise in building solutions in an agile/DevOps environment as well as managing teams in that space
  
  
• Expertise on building horizontally scalable, distributed, resilient, fault tolerant and monitored solutions
  
  
• Experience in building cloud ready, scalable, high availability platforms and products.
  
  
• Experience with large scale 3rd party solution implementations
  
  
• Ability to continually identify team improvements (retrospective analysis, maturity assessments and OKR’s
  and KPI’s)
  
  
• An understanding of the trade-off between technical investments and continual delivery of business outcome
  
  
• Ability to provide direction, support, and guidance for others
  
  
• Knowledge of Microservices based architecture with experience in Java Springboot tech stack
  
  
• Good understanding of cloud technologies like Azure and UI frameworks like Reac
  
  
• Understanding of AI, machine learning, process automation technologies and Event Streaming technologies (Ex: Kafka)
  
  
• Independently lead solution design and estimation
  
  
• Understanding software industry trends and relevant innovations in software delivery methods
  
  
• Experience with Information Security management - Maintain the data confidentiality & integrity and relevant compliance of information systems.
