M&A Enterprise Architecture works closely with all other Maersk units involved in Mergers & Acquisitions. We are engaged from the early understanding of the technology landscape and organisation of potential acquisitions, until the final integration of acquired companies. Our ambition is to ensure each acquisition is in line with the Maersk strategy, enables harvesting synergies and leaves a technology landscape that is long-term sustainable.

As Lead Enterprise Architect in the M&A Enterprise Architecture team, you will lead the EA partnering across technology portfolios in all M&A phases. You will evaluate the strategic fit of M&A targets during initial due diligence assessment and eventually drive the proper integration of an acquired company’s technology landscape and organisation into Maersk to ensure two independent companies become one strong team.

Key Responsibilities



• Analysis of the technology landscape of M&A targets and how it supports their business during due diligence phase
• Lead the evaluation of the strategic technology fit and formulation of the target state of an M&A target in collaboration with other stakeholders involved
• Coordination of architectural contributions throughout the integration of acquired companies into Maersk Technology
• Ensuring hand-over of responsibility for technical solutions from acquired companies to Maersk organization
• Driving efficiency and continuous improvements in the Maersk integration methodology
• Build strong insight of Maersk as-is and strategic ambitions to form the right to-be

Who we are looking for



• Strong technical background with at least 7+ years experience as an enterprise architect, lead software engineer, in a lead IT operations position or similar, preferably in a global environment of similar complexity like Maersk
• Ability to analyse full technology stacks of target companies, identify business needs like scalability and reliability, and security, to recommend to-be, and evaluate integration cost and risk
• Experience with Enterprise Architecture methods and frameworks
• Excellent critical thinking, leadership, communication, and project management skills
• Keen perception and curiosity to continuously acquire new knowledge and skills and a passion for technology
• Ability to communicate and demonstrate value of change to key stakeholders in both the business and technology functions (orally and in writing).
• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally
• Acknowledged team player with a high degree of personal integrity
• Experience with M&A and the global logistics industry preferred
