Are you an experienced people manager with a solid foundation within operations management in workforce heavy organisations? Would it appeal to you to be overall responsible for developing and implementing short, medium, and long-term plans to ensure that high-performing technicians are in place when needed in any given wind project? Then you could be our new Technician Services Manager at Swire Renewable Energy. The position can be based either in the London area or the company HQ in Lystrup near Aarhus in Denmark. Leading Technician Services and delivering safe working practices
Reporting to the COO, your overall mission will be to manage Technician Services, including financial and leadership scope, and delivering services to ensure future growth in both existing and new markets, foremost in the Northern and Central European regions. You and your team of 13 direct reports, who are based in the UK, Denmark, and Poland, are responsible for continuously improving our operational activities, to ensure efficiency and compliance with all appropriate legislation. Leading and managing Technician Services involves day-to-day operations, setting the strategic direction, and implementing key initiatives as well as facilitating motivation, development, teamwork, and a cross-functional mindset. More specifically, your tasks will include to:
You must expect approx. 40-50 days of travel a year, primarily in Europe.
Strong people manager with a passionate drive for development and performance
You probably have a relevant academic, technical, or commercial background and possess extensive experience from a similar role, preferably from the wind industry, service field, operations, project management, engineering, or similar. You have a profound understanding of financial parameters and impact on business, and you possess significant experience leading multi-cultural teams and acting as the direct line manager. Furthermore, you are comfortable with Microsoft Excel, and you are familiar with planning software. Personally, you are a motivating and enthusiastic team player who thrives with challenges every day. You are action-oriented, entrepreneurial, flexible, and have an innovative approach to operational management. Furthermore, you have excellent communication skills and a passionate drive for performance. Finally, you are fluent in written and spoken English.

- manage and develop technicians to ensure efficient delivery of technician services and fulfil customer requirements
- work closely with the Central Planner to ensure an efficient and robust load and capacity plan at all times in line with current and future projects, forecast, and budget
- collaborate closely with operations to effectively provide technician services and deliverables within the agreed project budget and timeline, including controlling the cost base against budget and contractual obligations
- liaise with customers, management, and stakeholders and communicate progress, deviations, and deliverables, including regular project reviews
- ensure that technicians are effectively and timely mobilised and demobilised across countries, including travel and international mobility requirements
- ensure efficient negotiation and renegotiation of local agreements with trade unions as well as compliance with local labour legislation and requirements
- develop and maintain sourcing supply chain, international resource database, and a strong pool of candidates.
