We are looking for an outgoing and skilled Tendering & Growth Manager to take on a pivotal role in development and governing the commercial enablement processes, systems, and tools across Svitzer, with focus on tendering excellence & growth pipeline management. Further, there are opportunities to tap into broad range of assignments within business development, project management, solutioning and value propositions development, in addition to the core focus of the role.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Excellence and Growth, the successful candidate will join the Commercial team in our Head Office based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Key responsibilities

Joining a small HQ team and a passionate global commercial community with colleagues from across the world, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in establishing solid foundation of sales enablement, growth pipeline management & tendering excellence processes. That includes deploying relevant tools, removing non-value adding activities, strengthen the collaboration and synergies within Svitzer’s commercial organisation and level up the efficiency in our commercial frontline.

Your key focus will be maintaining & overseeing the growth opportunity pipeline, support the sales enablement processes and tools development, co-lead the tendering phase through an end-to-end bid process including engaging in strategic decision-making, facilitating investment approval process, and ensuring best practise sharing across geographies. As a Tendering & Growth Manager, you will be offered with an opportunity to make a direct impact on our business by helping to focus the stakeholders around the right growth opportunities, and facilitate delivery of winning proposals.

A key part of the role is centered around ensuring close cross-team cooperation covering all relevant perspectives of our many investment projects – ultimately ensuring a holistic view on the commercial and strategic fit from a company perspective, profit, cost, revenue forecasting and leading the approval process internally.

You will be working with all levels of our organization, safeguarding high level of quality control and commitment to meet ambitious targets and improve our business and investment projects.

Specific areas of responsibility include (but not limited to):

  • Tender management: ensure delivery of winning proposals on time and as per defined strategy through project management and development of best-in-class standard tools, process steps and materials
  • Facilitation of Investment Proposals: facilitate the submission & approval process and support the regional offices in obtaining appropriate approvals for their proposed investment cases
  • Growth pipeline management: from direction setting and help to source attractive opportunities, to drive the discipline of maintaining accurate and up-to-date global growth pipeline and progressing opportunities through stages of maturity together with the regional commercial teams
  • Drive key business performance cadence & tools: such as monthly commercial reporting, performance reviews, quarterly priority setting with focus on delivering clear, consistent, and relevant storylines on business performance
  • Business development process: facilitate collaboration and ensure best practice sharing across teams, functions, and regions. Drive continuous improvement in the Business Development strategy, process, and framework
  • Subject matter expertise: support the decisions with commercial analytics, market intelligence etc. as relevant

We are looking for

As our ideal candidate, you are:

  • Customer focused: you always put the customer first and have the curiosity to uncover and solve key customer problems
  • Project oriented & strong communicator: you have sound project management skills allowing to simultaneously lead and structure multiple growth projects. This role requires strong organizational skills, and ability to clearly communicate with various levels in the organization
  • Financial acumen & strong analytical skills: you possess financial knowledge and are comfortable with reviewing investment appraisal models, business case memos and strategy recommendations to senior management
  • Collaborative and leading beyond authority: you will play a key role in cross-functional and cross-border teams where you need to be able to effectively work across geographies and hierarchies and deliver exceptional results in a team setting.
  • Business development toolbox: you have the experience and toolbox to deliver business development and tender management results
  • High energy & learn it all approach: your enthusiasm is infectious, and you thrive working and delivering as in a team (we play team-sports in Svitzer’s commercial team!), and carrying a mindset of “learn it all” instead of “know it all”
  • Education: Minimum a bachelor’s degree in business administration, strategy, economics, finance, or another relevant field

You have proficiency in both oral and written English as this is our working language. You must also hold a valid Danish residence and work permit. Industry experience in towage or shipping is an advantage but not a prerequisite.
