Commercial Excellence Manager

In this role, you will report to the Head of Commercial Excellence and Growth, who is looking for an energised, experienced, independent, and at the same time highly collaborative Commercial Excellence Manager. You will play a pivotal role in driving our business growth by cooperating with a commercial team in the Svitzer headquarters, and with the Global Svitzer Commercial Community.

Who we are

Svitzer is a leading Global Towage Operator, providing towage and sustainable marine solutions to make ports and terminals safer, more efficient and more climate friendly. We have customers in 30+ countries across four Regions: Australia, AMEA, Europe and America.

In recent years, we have grown through new contracts and acquisitions, and growing continues to be a focus. At the same time, we are implementing our new Strategy, which prioritises Decarbonization and Technology. However, our standard marine services remain critical to us.

We operate globally 24/7, which means that things rarely stand still. However, we are good at manoeuvring being busy, as we enjoy working as a team by listening to and helping each other. We also appreciate when colleagues voice their opinions.

The Position

As Commercial Excellence Manager, you will among others work on segmenting the customer portfolio and develop/roll out client engagement strategies and programmes (e.g. key-client programme) for these segments. Furthermore, you will play key role in driving sales processes, processes to capture customer insights and translating these into winning value propositions. The aim is to ensure our commercial colleagues can deliver the right solutions which are addressing the customer challenges, within each of these segments.

You will also co-own relevant commercial tools (e.g., CRM) the sales processes around these, and their adoption in the Global Organisation. You will help strengthen collaboration and synergies within Svitzer's Commercial Organisation. Last and very important, you will work with all levels of our Organisation, which requires a solid ability to influence and effectively communicate with various Stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Specific areas of responsibilities include the following and are not limited to:

  • Development of client engagement strategies and programmes.
  • Development of segment targeted solutions and value propositions.
  • Driving customer centricity and processes to capture customer insights, to be translated into competitive value elements & propositions.
  • Co-ownership of commercial tools (e.g. CRM) and design of sales processes around these.
  • Co-development and co-ownership of the Customer Promise
  • Capability development enabling continuous learning and improvement with the Commercial community.
  • Facilitate collaboration and ensure best practice sharing across teams, functions, and regions.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the commercial strategies, processes, and frameworks.

Naturally, the above responsibilities will be driven and developed with your colleagues. However, there will be a high degree of freedom, room for creativity and challenging how things are done today, with respect for a greater picture.

We are looking for

As the ideal candidate, you can tick off a majority of the below:

  • You must hold a valid Danish Residence and Work Permit.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Strategy, Economics, or another relevant field.
  • Customer-focused, i.e., putting the customer first and being curious to solve key issues.
  • Project-oriented and strong communicator, thus able to multitask under pressure, keeping your calm.
  • Strong analytical skills and know-how to make data tell the story.
  • Strategist with the ability to efficiently execute, comfortably navigating between "hands-on" detailed work with a view for the larger picture/the strategic vision.
  • Collaborative and leading beyond authority, i.e., can effectively work across geographies and hierarchies to deliver outstanding results in a team setting.
  • High energy and learn-it-all approach, which entails that you thrive with working in and delivering as a team & have a mindset of "learn it all" rather than of "know it all".
  • Experience with developing key client or other customer engagement strategies.
  • You have oral and written English proficiency, as this is our working language.
  • Industry experience in towage or shipping is an advantage but not a prerequisite.
