Tax Manager

Taking on this role, you will be working closely with the Head of Tax in Svitzer in managing international corporate tax compliance matters within tax reporting, tax risk management, transfer pricing and tax audits. Additionally, you will be involved in international tax advisory matters.

You will be exposed to a wide and challenging range of tax and business-related activities throughout the organization and co-operate closely with external advisors, senior management, and colleagues across Svitzer worldwide.

Key responsibilities

As Tax Manager you will be working closely with colleagues at the Svitzer Head Office in Copenhagen, our 4 regional offices and approx. 40 countries, and you may therefore expect up to 20 travel days per year. You will be joining Svitzer’s Tax function reporting directly to the Head of Tax with a joint responsibility for delivering on the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Compliance
  • Managing and overseeing the direct and indirect tax compliance in close cooperation with our tax compliance partners in all countries (including Danish joint tax filings).
  • Coordinating with the finance team to prepare for Pillar II filings.
  • Assist in the quarterly and year-end tax provisioning process.
  • Preparing the quarterly tax memo for the auditors.
  • Ensure Transfer Pricing documentation is prepared and maintained – both in-house and outsourced.
  • Other compliance tasks as needed from time to time.

  • Advisory
  • Analysing the impact of Pillar II on Svitzer’s operations.
  • Assist on the tax side in tenders for green field projects, divestments and acquisitions, sale and purchase of vessels etc.
  • Keeping track of changes in tax rules globally and helping the business team understand the impact.
  • Ad-hoc advisory support on transactions.

  • Risk Management
  • Assist on smaller tax audits globally.
  • Monitor, assess and action recoverability of tax assets on yearly basis.
  • Assist with tax health checks in hotspot countries as part of the compliance program of the Svitzer Finance Function.

Who we are looking for

  • You have a relevant Degree, e.g., Business Administration or Commercial Law, Accounting, Auditing or Master of Law along with minimum 3 years of international corporate tax experience from a multinational corporation or tax/law firm.
  • You are familiar with Danish Tax Law and filing practices.
  • You are comfortable dealing with all aspects of tax including direct tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing, customs, and personal income tax.
  • As a person you are energetic, proactive, and curious to get to know our business. You value and create a strong network with your stakeholders and can apply and explain the tax treatment of different transactions, and to challenge business driven decisions with adverse tax impact.
  • You have analytical skills, are structured and apply logic and pragmatic thinking.
  • You have excellent skills in Excel and Power Point.
  • You are a strong communicator and team player with high personal integrity.
  • You enjoy taking ownership and responsibility, and it is key that you can work independently.
  • As our corporate language is English, you must be fluent in both oral and written English. You must also hold a valid Danish residence and work permit
