Power Solutions Product Solutions & Integration EnVentus
We develop the wind energy products and technologies that reduce the cost of energy and bring the highest possible value to our customers and to Vestas. In our EnVentus department you will be an important part of developing Vestas’ latest generation of large onshore turbines.

Responsibilities
You will be overall responsible for A-level project management of our largest and most complex wind turbine development projects, spanning over several years and involving line and value chain functions across multiple business units. In addition, you will on a daily basis project manage the complete program of B-level sub-projects pertaining to a product development project. You will apply control measures to ensure the project produces the committed deliverables, within the specified constraints of time and cost, without compromising quality. Also, you will ensure that the benefits defined in the project business case are realised. You will be responsible for scoping, planning, timeline, resource management, budget control and adherence to our stage gate project execution model across the full product development life cycle, including handling issues, risks, deviations, escalations and project change requests to ensure effective and on-time and on-budget project delivery. In addition, you will contribute to process improvement initiatives as they relate to project excellence. Finally, you will support our Product Program Manager with project portfolio management and program management tasks as well as propel continuous stakeholder management and governance bodies engagement. You will work closely together with a Senior Product Lead, who is responsible for technical management within the product development project. In detail:

  • Manage a program of complex sub-projects that span multiple line functions and value chain functions, across multiple business units
  • Provide on-site and remote leadership for a globally dispersed project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, milestones and responsibilities
  • Facilitate and ensure scoping and work breakdown of the project
  • Establish project baselines, business case and project contract with defined tolerances and contingencies and secure stakeholder and governance sign-off
  • Prepare and deploy detailed project plan for all phases of the project, including mapping of critical path and long-leads
  • Ensure required staffing to carry out according to project plan in close collaboration with our module organisation
  • Ensure that project is proceeding according to scope, timeline, budget and quality standards
  • Report on project progress, project control plan milestones, project metrics, issues and risks through weekly/monthly reports and dashboards
  • Continuously ensure project control meta-data are correct and up to date in our PLM systems (SAP PPM, PowerBI)
  • Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies and critical path deliverables, to mitigate impact to project baseline
  • Participate in establishing best practices, templates, instructions, tools and to expand the project management capabilities of the organisation
  • Handle daily project activities, host project management core team meetings and continuously review sub-project performance
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, issues and risks across multiple leadership layers
  • Handle interdependencies between project execution, technology development, value chain operations and commercial needs
  • Manage project scope, project deviations and project changes
  • Handle and control project stages and life cycle including start-up, transitions into value chain functions (sourcing, production, transportation, construction, service) and close-down
  • Handle ongoing quality control and participate in quality issue resolution
  • Ensure resolution of disputes, conflicts, arbitrations etc. as needed
  • Participate in internal and external audits of project performance
  • Delegate work to the department project managers assigned to your project
  • Deliver appropriate, accurate and effective executive level communication and gate material

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree within Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration or other related fields
  • Proven experience of minimum 8 years with managing large, complex projects in a global project organisation.
  • Formal Project Management training and certification (e.g. IPMA Level B or A, Prince2 Practioner, PMI, Project Management Professional (MPM))
  • Wind energy industry experience is beneficial but not a must

Competencies

  • Organised and with ability to work with limited to no supervision.
  • Great persuasive and time management skills to ensure that project milestones and deliverables are met.
  • Motivated, versatile and team-oriented Curious learner with business understanding to deliver according to what the organisation need
  • Ability to edit and prepare decision making material with limited supervision from Product Program Manager and Product Owner.
  • Calm and focused personality with the ability to ensure project progress
  • Ability to create a positive, collaborative and energised working environment both in the projects and in the department

Additional information
The work location will be Aarhus, Denmark. You should expect some travel activity, approximately 40 days per year.
