About the department
The Legal Governance & Compliance team is part of Global Legal, located in Novo Nordisk’s headquarters in Bagsværd, Denmark. We are responsible for a broad range of areas including corporate governance, legal compliance and legal assistance to staff areas in our Headquarters. You will be part of an ambitious, dynamic and international team consisting of 10 employees who strive to deliver high quality results in close collaboration with our global legal and business stakeholders, including our 250 Global Legal colleagues situated at +40 locations around the world.
The position
We offer an exciting and challenging position as Corporate Counsel, where you will be responsible for further developing and driving Novo Nordisk’s corporate governance practices, which includes assistance in relation to our shareholders such as our Annual General Meeting, capital reductions and share buyback; our stock exchange listings such as disclosure of material news, insider register and employees’ trading in shares; governance of our Board of Directors and Executive Management such as the remuneration policy, incentive programmes and remuneration reporting as well as to compliance with Danish company law, with capital markets regulation in Denmark and the US and with Corporate Governance codes designated by Nasdaq Copenhagen and New York Stock Exchange.
You will also get the chance to engage with both legal and business stakeholders from across the global organisation and deliver high impact outcome when you as part of your responsibilities are developing our approach to corporate governance, providing legal advice to senior stakeholders, developing tools and providing training across the organisation.
To succeed you will need to engage a diverse range of stakeholders both within Global Legal and across the organisation as well as external counsels and third-parties. You will have independent responsibility for key tasks but also work together with other lawyers in the team.
The work place will be in Bagsværd, Denmark. As part of the Global Legal organisation, you would also be involved with cross-functional Global Legal projects and, in addition, various opportunities, both in Denmark and abroad, offer potential for further personal and professional development.
Qualifications
You hold a Danish law degree and have 3-5 years of experience, preferably, from a major law firm or inhouse legal department. You have a strong interest in international business and the pharma industry. Additionally, you possess a personal drive and a “can-do” dialogue-oriented and service minded attitude, which enable you to establish strong professional relations both internally and externally. You have an international mind-set, a desire to work with global matters and an ability to interact with colleagues from other cultures. Experience with company law and securities law is a significant advantage, but not required. You can multi-task and meet tight deadlines at the same time as you give solid attention to detail. Lastly, strong written and verbal communications is a must, thus proficiency in Danish and English on a professional level is required.
