About the department

As Head of our Diversity & Inclusion unit you will report directly to our Executive Vice President of People & Organisation in Novo Nordisk. The unit supports our three Global P&O priorities of being an inclusive and diverse organisation, a talent incubator and an employer for the future. You will lead a team of highly professional and engaged members. The position as head of the unit is anchored in Copenhagen and your team members are/will be in other locations and countries.

The position

The overall aim of this position is to make Novo Nordisk an attractive employer by shaping a sustainable workplace that offers an inclusive and diverse environment where all employees have equal opportunities. As Head of Diversity & Inclusion we will ask you to improve existing initiatives and develop new practices that promote and effectively increase the diversity and inclusion throughout Novo Nordisk. Your responsibilities include defining our strategic focus, making the plan, and measuring and monitoring the outcome of the initiatives we agree on.

You will also be called upon to support our EVP of P&O and the rest of Executive Management in their efforts to change culture and decision making behaviour throughout the organisation. Across your responsibilities you and your team will work closely with colleagues from our Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, Talent Succession and Culture and Rewards teams as well as our global HR Business Partners.

You will be a member of our Global P&O Management team and thereby be accountable also for the broader P&O agenda in Novo Nordisk.

Qualifications

You have a bachelor’s degree or higher in human resources, business or other relevant degrees; and you have 6-8 years of practical and leadership experience. Preferably with a broad understanding of different people and cultures from working in different business areas and different countries. We expect that you have experience from a global company and a proven ability to manage and control larger programmes and know how to measure and report on outcomes. Prior experience with the D&I agenda is an advantage – especially if you are ably to document results – but it is not a requirement.

As a person you are adept at engaging with and managing diverse stakeholder groups with different cultural background and different seniority levels. You have a global mindset, handle challenges and changes well, and manage to bridge divergent perspectives. You are a strong communicator with a high level of energy and the ability to handle many different priorities at the same time. You are a strong leader who can set direction, engage and motivate your people and team. You are fluent in both written and spoken English at a professional level.
