We are looking for a Senior Manager, Head of DMPK who will take up the responsibility leading the DMPK department which contributes to building the R&D pipeline with deep scientific under-standing and efficient delivery of DMPK, PK/PD and Bioanalytical input to drive forward our inno-vative first in class or best in class drug discovery projects.
You will report to the Director of Pharmacology, DMPK & Safety and be a part of the leadership team of the functional area as well as the Research & Early Development broader leadership team. You will play an important role in building our capabilities and expertise even further, while at the same time ensuring efficiency and effectiveness - and challenging the status quo.
Leading a DMPK department with highly skilled scientists and technicians
As a Senior Manager of DMPK you will head up a department of currently 12 employees (7 PhD level scientists and 5 technicians) based in Denmark as well as be accountable for external con-tract research organizations and collaborations. In close collaboration with your employees, you will be responsible for continuously developing the department and ensuring the department contributes to building the R&D pipeline and delivers on our ambitious goals.
As Head of DMPK you will be accountable for the following areas:
• Set the strategic direction of the department, build, and enhance capabilities to ensure DMPK contributes to the implementation of our Drug Technology Platform strategy with focus on innovative small molecules for oral delivery.
• Ensure continuous development of our translational PK/PD strategy in drug discovery projects from early target validation to drug candidate selection and toward clinical proof-of con-cept.
• Lead the DMPK department to ensure our Protein-Protein Interaction modulator, Targeted Protein Degrader and RNA targeting small molecule projects are guided with scientific input and data within:
o Drug Metabolism and Drug-Drug Interactions
o In vitro and in vivo Pharmacokinetics and dose-to-man predictions
o PK/PD modelling and simulation and early target assessment
o Oral absorption, permeability, and early physicochemical characterization
o LC-MS based bioanalysis and biotransformation
• Provide scientific guidance and mentorship within your area of expertise, and work collabo-ratively within DMPK as well as cross-functionally with other disciplines in R&D.
The role is based at LEO’s headquarters in Ballerup, Greater Copenhagen, with the possibility for a flexible remote work schedule.
Leadership profile with strong scientific background in DMPK
To succeed in this role, we envision you hold a Ph.D. within pharmaceutical sciences, drug metab-olism, bioanalytical chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or another relevant field. This is backed by minimum 8 years of experience from pharmaceutical industry that has provided you with an in-depth expertise within DMPK in a drug discovery setting.
You have a minimum of 5 years of experience leading high-performance teams as people man-ager, or as project manager leading experienced specialist in drug discovery projects. You have an international mindset and outlook, and you are known for your open and positive mindset. You find it motivating to work with people development and you have an excellent ability to identify, prioritize and focus on key challenges together with a strong drive for results.
You must have scientific curiosity and you energized by developing new skills. new. You have a structured way of working, have a good understanding of team dynamics and how to promote and support a constructive collaboration across the R&D organization.

DMPK is a part of the newly established Pharmacology, DMPK & Safety functional area and has the responsibility for DMPK, PK/PD and Bioanalysis from the early idea phase to candidate se-lection and for ensuring a smooth transition to development.
