Full responsibility for QHSE globally * Strategic and holistic approach * Annual turnover of over DKK 2 billion
VIKING Life-Saving Equipment A/S leads its field and the mission is clear: “We protect and save lives all over the world”.
VIKING develops and delivers game-changing solutions for the world’s largest cruise ships and ferries, as well as cargo vessels and oil rigs operating from the Arctic to the tropics. It’s a dynamic and inspiring workplace where you’ll be surrounded by competent colleagues from many different nations.
We’re looking for a Global QHSE Director to move us from great to outstanding – assisted by a large team of highly skilled and committed employees in Quality, Health, Safety and Environment. QHSE is on top of our agenda, and it should be integrated by every single employee in the organisation. QHSE is not a process – it’s a culture.
VIKING Life-Saving Equipment has one of the most complex flows of goods, as our customers are located all around the globe – with the majority constantly on the move. Having more than 30,000 active items – both sourced and self-produced – demands reliable processes in a complex supply chain, especially given the fact that the solutions is manufactured to save lives.
As the new Global QHSE Director, you will report directly to the COO, closely collaborating with factories located in Denmark, Bulgaria, Thailand, China and Greece. The local QHSE Managers will either directly report to you – or have a dotted line. You will meet monthly with the Group Management to present “a state of the union”.
A proven track record with a strategic mindset
This position has to be one of the most interesting of its kind. It’s about leading people, managing projects and taking a strategic approach to optimising basically every way of working in the company. Obviously, you will have to do it in accordance with the other 3000 employees.
You must be well qualified within QHSE and have worked in a complex, global organisation where Quality and HSE is on the agenda. It is a necessity that you have been working within a manufacturing company – and most likely also with aftermarket issues.
VIKING is located in Esbjerg – the center of a thriving region with a strong business environment, outstanding nature and plenty of opportunities for sports and cultural events. You are expected to live in reasonable driving distance from Esbjerg or willing to relocate. A moderate number of travel days abroad should be expected.
How to apply
The recruitment process is carried out in collaboration with the consulting company Compass Human Resources Group. If you want to learn more about this position before submitting your application, please do not hesitate to contact Senior Consultant Mikael Hage on tel.: +45 21 32 92 12. Please submit your application and CV as soon as possible, if you are interested. Applications will be processed on an ongoing basis. Please note that all enquiries will be handled with confidentiality and that we will reply to the email address from which you send your CV.
