About the department

The department is an established organisation including mechanical engineers, risk- and system engineers and project assistants. We are moving a brand-new device through early phase development and making it ready for upscaling. Organizationally, the team is growing and the need to work with numerous stakeholders across Novo Nordisk is increasing.

We are a part of Novo Nordisk Device Research & Development, which is the area responsible for the development of medical devices for self-treatment within all business areas of Novo Nordisk A/S. We invented the market for insulin injection devices with the launch of the world’s first insulin pen in 1985 and aim to further advance our offerings to people living with diabetes or other chronical diseases and their healthcare professionals through new technologies, including Digital Health solutions.

The position

You will join a project team of highly skilled engineers responsible for the development of a new device platform to support future Novo Nordisk drugs. Your main responsibilities will be 3D design and manufacturability of mechanical components, ensure functionality and robustness of mechanical systems and mechanical analyses of components and sub-systems. Further, you will be responsible for defining and verifying performance requirements, root cause analysis and problem solving.

Your daily work will cover a variety of tasks. You will be working with both internal and external stakeholders. The job will give you ample opportunity for developing your skillset both on a personal level and within mechanical engineering.

Qualifications

You hold an academic degree within mechanical engineering or similar and have at least 5-7 years of experience within mechanical development, designing plastic components, mechanisms and using FEM tools in analyses. You are skilled within disciplines like design for injection moulding, tolerance stack-ups, kinematic and structural analysis and master CREO or other 3D CAD system. Experience with design of medical devices is a plus.
Proficiency in oral and written English is essential.

On a personal level, you are pro-active and thrive with driving tasks independently to the finish line. As you have a structured approach to your work, you can juggle several tasks while prioritising your efforts optimally by keeping the bigger picture in mind.
