Maersk is on an exciting transformation journey to become global integrator of container logistics. To enable growth, and develop solutions and value propositions that addresses the needs of our customers from various industry verticals, we are looking for a talented and experienced customer solutions manager, coming with significant experience from Logistics industry.
The successful candidate, will join a team of customer solution managers, and vertical insights managers, who together work towards designing and developing market leading value propositions for customers from various segments and industry verticals (Automotive, FMCG, Retail, Lifestyle, Chemicals, Technology & Electronics, Refrigerated cargo).
To be successful in the role, the candidate must have significant hands on experience from international transportation & logistics environment, be an enthusiastic and passionate person, team player which can also act with high sense of independence, and be comfortable working in an environment of ambiguity and frequent change.
Reporting into the Global Head of Customer Solutions & Vertical Customer Insights, you will be part of global Sales & Marketing organization. Here we are responsible for driving the strategic agenda for our various customer segments, and industry verticals, ensuring that we deliver value and growth through dedicated solutions to our customers.
This is a senior position where the successful candidate will hold a pivotal role in developing industry value propositions and driving the strategic growth agenda for the verticals, together with the global industry vertical heads. Team collaboration, customer centricity, innovative mindset and high sense of ownership are keys for being successful in this role. You will work closely with other commercial teams in HQ and our countries. The role is an individual contributor role, however ample of project management activities, will enable the individual leading without formal authority opportunities. Further, the HQ solutions team has dotted line to the customer solution managers in the areas, hence functional leadership aspect (E.g. training, best practice sharing etc.) opportunities exist in the role. This is an excellent opportunity for a personal development within Maersk, offering exposure to various functions in HQ and front-line, as well as offering hands-on experience with various Maersk products.
• Acting as E2E project manager, leading the solution design & development process, including translating customer insights into business solutions, business case crafting etc.
• Engage effectively with internal stakeholders across HQ (product, platforms, customer experience, marketing) and regions (sales, area solution manager, product managers, supply chain development) to jointly develop winning vertical solutions.
• Enable customer solutions to be differentiator for Maersk, helping to move from selling products mentality, to building and offering effective solutions that help our customers connecting and simplifying their supply chains.
• Ensuring the developed solutions are playing key role in the value proposition towards the customers in the relevant segment/vertical/sub-vertical
• Co-creation activities across the global organization
• Throughout understanding of the customer needs (current & emerging), and translating those into best possible solutions
• Becoming subject matter expert on our products & service offerings, and how those can be combined in the most effective manner, to address various customer needs and offering gaps
• Scaling existing solutions developed locally, to global level
• Facilitating global community of customer solution managers, fostering quality best practice sharing, training on relevant tools etc.
• Facilitating quarterly exploration process, to ensure healthy pipeline of solutions
• Facilitating success story sharing within the global customer solution managers community
We are looking for an experienced transport & logistics professional, who would be thrilled to become part of the biggest transformation our company is going through, and is comfortable operating in an environment of ambiguity and frequent change. Skills wise, we are looking for someone with:
• 7+ years of experience with proven track record in designing & selling international transport and logistics end-to-end solutions. Those must include experience with supply chain management (3PL/4PL) products. warehousing and distribution and general transportation products (Ocean FCL, LCL, Air).
• Significant hands-on project management experience
• Experienced managing people without formal authority in project environment
• Outstanding stakeholder management abilities
• Strong analytical skills
• Customer-centric mindset with an eye for innovation
• Strong communication skills, and ability to build long lasting relationships
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
• Advanced presentation skills
• Excellent prioritization abilities
• Ability to multitask and perform effectively in area with high uncertainty and ambiguity
• Resilient to change and comfortable with fast shifting priorities, workload and responsibilities
• Self-starter, self-motivator, comfortable with high level of autonomy, while also a team player
• Project management certification is will be deemed as significant advantage
• Bachelor’s or other advanced degree
The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Some travel activities would be expected in the role.
