Your daily work will have impact on our business, our people and hundreds of customers in your region. It involves duty of care, security risk management and supply chain management for internal stakeholders and assets (offices, warehouses, depo´s, maintenance repair stores, trucking, rail, and air cargo) and our external customers, vendors, and local authorities. It is a very important area for us as we look to identify, analyze, and properly manage unacceptable security risks. Your scope will not include Cyber, IT, vessel and port security.

Reporting to the Head of Global Security, you and your peers in the Global Security Team will work closely with regional business leadership and the wider HSE, Security and Business Resilience (BR) community. In this role you are expected to lead by example and to create valuable working relationships at all levels.

Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Loss Prevention:
- Implement policies and procedures for security measures related to our sites and make sure that they are adequately protected and in compliance with internal requirements and external regulations (C-TPAT, TAPA, IATA, AEO, etc.) – all with support from Global Security.
- Promote and educate HSSE and Security staff in your region on the Maersk security risk management program as part of the company HSSE Management Framework.
- Serve as primary point of contact in your region for supply chain & logistics security enquiries.
- Support the development and implementation of Maersk’s regional supply chain security strategies and standards.
Security Management:
- Establish loss prevention and crime detection strategies within your region, get management buy-in for these strategies and implement them accordingly.
- Establish respectful and relevant working relationships with senior leaders, key stakeholders, and regional government entities.
- Conduct security risk assessments of crime trends and geo-political developments, new business proposals and other potential business threats and risks.
- Maintain regional security related dashboards and reporting protocols by utilizing data.
We are looking for
Since you will have quite a broad job-scope, and your background does therefore not have to be one of policing or military services. It might not even be security as such but an understand of and experience with supply chain and logistics does feel relevant. Our internal upskilling program will make sure that we close off any knowledge gaps you might have in your security experience.
- You must have high moral and ethical standards since we are in the business of doing things right. This means that you must be able to reflect and embrace our values.
- You might have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree education in supply chain management, logistics, international studies, security management, business administration or similar from a well-established educational faculty (desirable).
- You might be certified in security management, and it would be great if you already understand the drivers of crime and impactful crime prevention, but it is not a requirement.
- You have prior Leadership/management experience as you will lead and guide areas security and HSSE managers without them directly reporting to you.
- You have proven track record of working with supply chain management, logistics, international studies or similar at a management level in your region
- You have good understanding of the geo-political risks, challenges, and opportunities in the region
- You have ability to demonstrate strong networking and interpersonal skills, as well as professionalism to deal with all levels of staff
- You have experience with illegal cargo, counterfeit, and smuggling (desirable)
- You feel comfortable in using number and occurrences to find patterns, measure impact and quality, as well as work progress.
