We are in Maersk Public & Regulatory Affairs looking for a university or business school student with an international mindset and strong can-do mentality.

While the position involves some administrative tasks (e.g. assisting with keeping templates updated, managing communication and information etc.), the right candidate will also have the opportunity to support and work on Maersk participation at regional and international fora such as COP and WEF.

You will be working out of our office in Esplanaden 50, providing support for our Global Partnerships & Reputation under Public & Regulatory Affairs Department, for 15-20 hours/ week.

Key responsibilities

The position is anchored in the Public & Regulatory Affairs at Maersk's headquarter in Copenhagen but with an extensive international reach and requires interaction and collaboration with stakeholders inside and outside Maersk.

The main areas of responsibility are to:

  • Assist the Global Partnerships & Reputation team in preparing briefings for senior management, policy papers, and engagement in external events with targeted research, writing tasks and draft presentations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to digest complex regulatory proposals, identify key points and impact for Maersk;
  • Draft, prepare and update agendas, policy papers and presentations with a specific focus on global trade, digitization and climate;
  • Assist with event management and help coordinate collaboration and communication across various departments to strengthen Public Affairs outputs.
  • Administrative tasks on an ad hoc basis

We are looking for

Ideally, you have completed at least 2 years’ of study and have relevant experience from public administration, consultancy or an (international) company. There is no preferred field of study, emphasis is placed on the candidate meeting the criteria mentioned below.

We are looking for a candidate with following experience and skills:

  • Knowledge of international organizations / UN decision making process is a large advantage, at least on a basic level;
  • Keen interest in regulatory aspects of digitization and data ethics and/or climate change and the environment;
  • Methodical and thorough and have an ability to keep a clear mind in a busy and dynamic environment;
  • You are proactive and self-driven with an analytical mindset and can easily work with different stakeholders across cultures;
  • You have an excellent command of written and spoken English. Other language skills are an advantage but not a requirement;
  • You are passionate about climate issues and the energy transition;
  • You are open and not afraid of asking questions or making mistakes;
  • You are flexible, structured, constructive, diligent and team player.
