Opportunity

The Head of Standards, reporting to the Global Head of Engineering, is responsible to create and provide construction, and engineering design standards and inputs to the business that will enable successful expansion of both logistics warehouse facilities, and cold chain facilities around the world.

This high-impact role will ensure facilities are designed to meet international standards of quality, efficiency, productivity, safety and sustainability. If you are a self-starter with significant experience in developing logistics/cold chain facility designs across geographies, developing building standards and technical handbooks, partnering with high level stakeholders and if you believe you can thrive in a high-paced growth-focused company, this is a role for you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the creation of technical handbooks for construction of logistics warehouses, and cold chain facilities, including but not limited to standards for land, building, materials, fittings and equipment, safety & resilience and environmental aspects.

  • Drive the creation of design templates, design toolkits, and scalable design principles for construction of logistics warehouses, and cold chain facilities, including but not limited to architectural design, structural design principles.

  • Provide engineering consultation and guidance to business on development of logistics warehouses, and cold facilities, managing external consultants to drive validation of design assumptions at early project stages, and provide business assurance on the technical and financial viability of investment proposals.

  • Working within the wider Engineering team, partnering with Programme Manager, and Head of Construction PM to provide engineering and construction cost inputs to business on investment proposals.


What are we looking for:

  • Education in engineering, architecture, building sciences or relevant subjects.

  • Some years of professional experience in the cold chain engineering design field

  • Experienced in Technical handbook development (or certifications as necessary)

  • Construction Project management experience a plus

  • Team player and collaborative nature with excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Excellent knowledge of building permits, legal requirements and construction procedures.

  • Construction Cost budget management experience

  • Experience working for a diverse multi-disciplined company.

  • Attention to detail and technical (written and verbal) communication skills.

  • Able to thrive in a team-focused environment and engage in creative, critical thought; takes initiative and can function at a high level on multi-disciplinary teams.
