About this opportunity
Welcome to the Chief Security Office. As the Head of Group Security Risk you will be part of the CSO Management Team. Our second line of defense security office is the part of Group Risk and Compliance that is responsible for security monitoring and control, and thereby ensuring Nordea has an effective security governance and management process in place.
We add value to Nordea and to our customers by managing the information security risks and enabling managers and employees to act correctly in protecting the information assets and privacy of the data. We do that in strong collaboration with business areas and central functions. The unit serves the entire Nordea Group.
Our mission is to:
- Build upon the development of the risk landscape, regulatory changes, the business strategy, the risk appetite, internal and external regulatory findings, as well as results from benchmarking assessments (such as the PwC NIST assessment) and consider the ongoing implementation of earlier security objectives (such as GISP)
- Improve transparency of cyber risks and the maturity of Nordea's cyber defense capabilities. Build up on international standards and best practices
- Maintain Regulatory Compliance
You will play a valuable role in implementing a strong Information Security Value Chain and driving the development of a robust reporting structure that is fit for purpose to provide senior management with relevant and accurate risk information to help keep the bank within well-defined risk appetite. The focus will be on key risks and relevant KPIs also using data analytics to effectively communicate with senior management.
You will lead a team of 5 colleagues in CSO, and work very closely with business line and colleagues.
What you’ll be doing:
- Building up, leading and inspiring a team of highly skilled specialists, including building up and implementing changes and new processes in your team
- Driving the development and implementation of top down security risks, including risk appetite definition and management of Top Risks and their KPIs/KRIs
- Driving the implementation of a robust reporting structure with focus on key risks and relevant KPIs so we can provide senior stakeholders with timely and accurate security reporting
- Interacting with other teams in CSO to help mature risk awareness and properly understand how to adequately report on key risks
- Ensuring advice to first line on security processes, regulatory compliance and control appropriateness
- Collaborating with stakeholders to enable the business to reach and maintain a risk profile within appetite

- Can collaborate on all levels of the organization
Your experience and background:
- Experience in direction setting, priority identification and team leadership
- Background in security, governance, risk or compliance
- Experience within data analytics and reporting
- You have superior English spoken & written skills, and the following qualifications are well regarded:
- Relevant Bachelor or Master’s Degree in a technical subjects
- Relevant security qualifications such as CRISC, CISM, CISSP
