We are seeking a people manager with experience, preferably within filling of DS or downstream API production or other areas within the pharmaceutical industry.
AGC Biologics is a Contract Development Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) with facilities in Denmark, Germany, Italy, Japan, and USA and with customers from all over the world. We have more than 30 nationalities employed, and the daily language is English.
The Filling Team
The team is part of the Microbial Manufacturing Department and is responsible for filling of DS batches of both Drug Bulk Intermediate (DBI) / Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) and support proteins for pre-clinical, clinical, and commercial use. The role will be to ensure leadership presence and support and to drive performance and development of the employees in filling to ensure training and requalification of filling personnel.
The position
As the Team Leader in the filling team, you will be the direct leader of currently 5 technicians; all of them with a technical background.
You will be responsible for:
· Planning- and coordination of work and board meetings.
· People management, hiring and developing people, conducting mid- and end year appraisals.
· Secure proper training and qualification of personnel is in place and conducting process confirmations on the shop floor.
· GMP compliance and safe work environment of the team.
· Coordination with team leaders and managers across the production departments.
· Optimization and standardization of work processes.
· Inspection readiness and presentations at audits and inspections.
· Answering regulatory questions and requests during inspections and audits.
· Ensuring collaboration across the organization regarding qualification of rooms and equipment.
There is constant collaboration across the organization, and all employees have a professional and flexible attitude towards their work.
You will, together with the Downstream Team Leaders, the Team Leader for the Upstream Team, the Team Leader for the Coordination Team and the Head of Department, be part of the leadership group where operation, development and optimization of the entire department will be key.
The work hours will be daytime, and some flexibility is required, when audits, trainings, meetings etc. are outside normal working hours.
Experience and competencies
The ideal candidate holds a BSc or MSc in Chemical Engineering or has a technical background within the biopharmaceutical industry and have previously been a leader preferably within the biopharmaceutical industry.
The ideal candidate for the position has several of the below competencies/experiences:
- +5 years of experience from the pharmaceutical industry working in an GMP environment including inspections experience.
- +2 years of leadership experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Scientific and technical understanding of downstream processes is a plus.
- Strong communication skills (English).
- Strong collaboration skills and capacity to bond with colleagues.
- LEAN oriented.
- Can cope with a fast-changing high work pace in a dynamic environment.
- Structured and analytical oriented.
- Responsible and able to take ownership.
- A strong GMP mindset.
