About the Department
The position is based in the Stem Cell CMC and Manufacturing area in Måløv, Denmark, one of three units in Stem Cell R&D. The department you will be responsible for is currently in a build-up phase and will, together with a corresponding department, be responsible for developing and transferring robust manufacturing processes and analysis for stem cell projects. The purpose of the unit is to bring the growing pipeline of stem cell-based therapies into clinical trials with speed and quality. Here, management and leadership of the CMC aspects will be crucial for the success of our Stem Cell R&D portfolio.

In addition to work with partners and CRO/CMO´s, you will also be in close collaboration with our stem cell manufacturing site in California. We work based on scientific facts, a strong quality mind-set, and take active responsibility for the initiatives we engage in. The work is performed in multidisciplinary teams in collaboration with the research, manufacturing and clinical development units in Stem Cell R&D and Novo Nordisk as well as together with external partners. Thus, a wide interdisciplinary understanding of development processes and requirements for ATMPs is needed to support decision making and progress.
The position
You will report to the Vice President of Stem Cell CMC and Manufacturing. Your main task will be to successfully manage and lead the department deliverables with tight deadlines and a high focus on quality and speed. Your ability to efficiently communicate the direction and strategy for the department will be crucial to ensure high performance of the department with a strong focus on all key deliverables and our people.
Further, you inspire the department to achieve the goals by effectively coaching, mentoring and proper delegation of tasks. Apart from that, you sustain quality mind-set across the department and ensures high value in the work processes. A continuous alignment with respect to health authority expectations is needed to secure the optimal strategy towards clinical trials and market.
The job will require collaboration with people of many different backgrounds, across organisational levels and geography (mainly US). Above all, you get the opportunity to oversight stem cell projects at a leadership level and to some extent at a strategic level.
Qualifications
You have an MSc/PhD in Life Sciences and hold +3 years of proven strong leadership experience. Ideally, your education is backed by experience and knowledge within process development, cell therapy and analytical development. You have excellent people, collaboration and communication skills and a strong ability to create winning teams while ensuring great work environment.
Preferably, you have experience handling clinical projects within CMC and enjoys navigating in novel and emerging areas like regenerative medicines. Experience within clinical trial applications and interactions with health authorities is an advantage but not a requirement.
As a person, you possess leadership skills, a quality mind-set, and enjoy working in a fast-changing environment with focus on the project goals and people.
