Then you might be the candidate we are looking for to lead our Oral Delivery and Characterisation department.
About the department
Biophysics and Formulation is a central part of Global Research Technologies located in Måløv, Copenhagen area, Denmark. The VP area consists of 5 departments and is responsible for biophysical screening and early oral and injectable formulation development of peptide and protein compounds across the entire Novo Nordisk research portfolio. We aspire to drive innovation by applying cutting edge technology and formulation expertise, and we are currently transforming the way we work by implementation of automated workflows and use of data science. The Oral Delivery and Characterisation department consists of 15 highly skilled employees divided into 13 scientists at all levels and seniority and 2 experienced lab technicians.
The position
The specific responsibility of the department is to be the leading experts within oral delivery of peptides and proteins using innovative oral devices. A further area of responsibility is to ensure analysis and advanced solid-state characterisation of oral drug products. Your responsibilities include scoping of the scientific work required to advance our projects in alignment with stakeholders in the R&D organisation and to drive innovation and generation of new project ideas in the department. Moreover, you will be identifying and spearheading data science and automation initiatives in close collaboration with application and data scientists.
You will be responsible for managing and developing a team of highly engaged scientists and lab technicians. It is your job to set the strategic direction and business targets of the department, to develop people, and to ensure an inspiring and motivating working environment. You will become part of a vibrant and dedicated management team where you will help set the direction for the Biophysics and Formulation area. You will work to ensure flexible allocation of resources consistent with overall R&D priorities while keeping an eye on longer term goals.
Qualifications
You hold a Ph.D. in natural sciences or life sciences and have at least 5 years of postdoctoral experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry or academia. The preferred candidate has a proven track record in oral biologics delivery as demonstrated by publications/patents and an international network within the field. You have at least 2 years of people management experience and demonstrated strong leadership qualities. You display excellent collaboration and communication skills and evident commitment to create winning teams with focus on continuous people development. You have a proactive and visible leadership style and the ability to set clear direction in a complex environment. You display a high level of personal engagement, drive, independence and integrity.
