International School of Billund (ISB) is looking for a Head of Kindergarten
About ISB
The International School of Billund is located in Billund – the Capital of Children. We opened our doors in August 2013, and have grown rapidly in size and number of students since then. We are an authorized IB World School for PYP and MYP (for more info: www.ibo.org).
ISB consists of three departments: Kindergarten, Primary and Middle School, with shared management and administration. Currently we run two classes in most grade levels and we are still developing fast. The vast majority of our students have an international background.

By placing PLAY at the heart of education, ISB stimulates every child’s natural desire to LEARN.
The ISB Kindergarten has newly renovated, playful and inviting facilities both inside and outside. The Kindergarten accommodates approximately 90 children aged 3-5 years, divided into 5 groups.

The overall responsibility of the Head of Kindergarten is to ensure continuity and stability of an already well-functioning Kindergarten. Your job will be to:

Terms of employment
The position is full-time, newly established, and to be filled by 1st of March 2022, or as soon as possible in 2022. The terms and conditions of the employment is in accordance with the terms agreed between BUPL / FOA and the Agreement Unit at independent primary and lower secondary schools (Aftaleenheden ved frie grundskoler).

The overall responsibility of the Head of Kindergarten is to ensure continuity and stability of an already well-functioning Kindergarten. Your job will be to:
- Ensure a continued development of the pedagogical approach and methods for learning
- Pedagogical lead of a team of 22 competent and dedicated employees
- Ensure a continued professional development of the team
- Collaborate closely with especially Primary School, to ensure a smooth transitioning of children from Kindergarten to Primary School
- Assist and coordinate with the administrative team, that supports the entire school
Professional qualifications
We are looking for a well-qualified person, with the following professional qualifications:
- Trained educator with experience of working socially and professionally with young children’s learning and well-being
- Knowledge of IB, International Baccalaureate, or commitment to learn
- An exploratory, playful and hands-on approach to learning
- The ability to work with an appreciative and inclusive approach to children, parents and colleagues
- Basic IT skills and mastering English both oral and written, as English is the language of instruction

Your personal profile is characterized by:
- A passion to make a positive difference for children in general – and their learning and well-being in particular
- A track record of building productive relationships with children, their parents and colleagues
- A wish to collaborate with colleagues on IB’s Early Years curriculum

- Being an out-spoken team-player, taking pride in delivering own contributions with the areas of responsibility
- Being committed, flexible and responsible, and having a positive attitude towards challenges
