Are you a skilled manager with an engineering background, commercial thinking, and experience from the wind turbine industry or other heavy industries? As Global Head of Engineering at BMS Heavy Cranes, you will be responsible for the engineering department. The department services and supports both customers and internal colleagues. The department is a hub for the technical specialist knowledge of everything needed to implement various projects within the wind turbine industry and other heavy industries - based on BMS Heavy Cranes' own cranes. This includes knowledge of mobile cranes, heavy transport, and rigging.
With reference CSO Offshore & Other Industries, you will be given management responsibility for a department with skilled specialists, where you must ensure a professional and constructive working environment. You are a visible and present leader who takes the lead, gathers people around the task, and you are motivating and inspiring. At the same time, you ensure the ongoing development of the employees.
The position covers several areas of responsibility and opportunities, where you as Global Head of Engineering will have many points of contact in the organisation, including a close collaboration with the sales- and project departments. You will work closely together with the other internal departments and the customers, where you advise on options and solutions. You will also use your engineering background to calculate and evaluate constructions and engineering issues related to cranes, lifting equipment and transport.
You come from a similar role in the wind turbine industry or other heavy industries, where you have used your technical knowledge and management experience to create success. You have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a manager, and you have worked with the development of employees or teams as a direct manager or with cross-disciplinary technical responsibility.
You have a relevant education, e.g. as a marine engineer, engineer, or similar - combined with 5-10 years of relevant work experience.
As a person, you contribute with a high drive and energy. You are outgoing and structured, sit naturally at the end of the table, and manage your areas of expertise through good communication, involvement, and sparring with the organisation. You are good at communicating and conveying a message, which helps you to create a constructive collaborative environment and create good relationships with colleagues, customers, and business partners. You have good technical insight into the heavy industry, are used to project-based work, and naturally thinks commercially.
The Engineering organisation consists of approx. 12 employees, which today consists of people from Denmark, Sweden, UK, Ireland, Poland, The Netherlands, and Australia.
