Odense Letbane consists of a 14,3-kilometre line with 26 stations and a Control and Command Centre. The line will run from Tarup Center st. in the north, through Odense City Centre, to Hjallese St. in the south. Most of the central line is integrated in to the existing road system.
You work place will be in our offices in Odense M.
Your role The role as Safety Manager is manifold, and you will be managing very different tasks on a day-to-day basis. The tasks can be as follows:
In all tasks, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the European Common Safety Method (CSM), CENELEC standards and relevant Danish Railway Legislation.
You will be referring to the Safety Approval Manager.
Experience and education You either hold a relevant degree in safety management or have experience with safety management in a rail context. Candidates with experience in light rail, rail legislation, CSM and CENELEC or a relevant technical background will be preferred.
It is important that you can function in a complex organisation with a fast-paced environment. The role is dependant on your ability to ensure collaboration with the organisation, and you are confident with coordinating with stakeholders as well as taking the lead on solving safety issues.
The working language is English. We are a multi-national organisation, where English is often the only common language, so it is important that you can communicate fluently in both spoken and written English. It is not an absolute requirement that you are fluent in Danish, but a good grasp of the Danish language is preferred due to the nature of the stakeholders and legislation.
Salary You will be hired on an individual contract, and your salary will be settled based on your experience and qualifications.

- Ensuring safety subjects are communicated and handled internally
- Analysing potential safety issues for technical solution
- Writing, giving input to and reviewing safety documentation, e.g. plans, system definitions, hazard logs and safety cases
- Review Danish standards for input to technical solutions
- Attend meetings with the Assessment Body, the National Safety Authorities and other relevant bodies
- Deliveries of safety submissions to relevant bodies according to the Authority Approval Process Plan
