Do you want to be a part of the implementation of our new strategy, Tech vision, where several of the existing systems in the department are due to get modernized? And can you bring your ability to cooperate with many different people into play, getting the best results for our customers? Then it might be you we are looking for.
You deliver results and develop the employees
As the department manager in our Pension area you will have to secure the performance and the development of the employees of the department. You will do this in close cooperation with the ART management team (Agile Release Train) of which you will be a member. You are responsible for the IT strategies for the application in Pension, and you will be the system and platform owner for all pension systems. An important task is to plan the modernizing of the existing platforms, keeping them up to date, and ensure proper maintenance plans.
In BEC we are working agile in the SAFe framework with PI planning and agile roles like scrum masters and product owners, allocated to the development teams. You will cooperate with the scrum masters and RTE (Release Train Engineer) to further mature the agile way of working in the development teams of the department.
Your main duties will amongst other be:
There will be some travel activity to our nearshoring department in Warsaw.
Your profile
As a person you are solution oriented rather than insisting on being right, and you have the ability to collaborate with different kind of people both in the ART management and in the teams. You understand how to prioritize, and you ensure that the most important tasks are handled in a hectic day, where time does not permit all tasks to be solved. You are able to delegate tasks and thereby be able to execute through others, rather than being hands-on with all tasks, and you have a strong sense of ownership even when collaboration is needed. Leading and supervising your employees come easy to you like presenting and communicating in the department and with your stakeholders. You adapt and respond easily to changes and you will go the extra mile to achieve your goals.

You will be the manager of a department with a total of 29 employees, including Polish employees and consultants. Most of the employees in the department has a background in Cobol, but many also have skills in Java. The department has onboarded a number of graduates, in the last couple of years, both in Denmark and Poland, all with a masters degree as a background. The technologies we are working with varies over Java, Cobol, Kafka integration platform, PaaS platform (Redhat).
You will be a part of a large management community, with the opportunity of participating in our CoP (Community of Practice), where department managers systematically share and develops their professionalism with other department managers within BEC.

- Performance management of the employees in the department, including polish employees – with input from ART management
- IT strategies for the pension portfolio of applications
- System and platform owner for all pension systems
- Competence planning and the development of the employees in order to be able to complete the new development work planned for the department (in close cooperation with rest of ART management)
- Collaboration with the ART management
- Budget responsibility for the department

Your profile

- Hold a bachelor or masters degree in IT or finance, or have equivalent working experience
- Have experience with people management, IT management and IT strategy
- Have a solid IT vocabulary
- Have a certification in SAFe, which will be an advantage
- Master the English language both written and spoken
