Randstad is looking for a Head of Process Department for SaltPower. SaltPower is a fast-growing company developing green technology for producing energy. SaltPower has managed to further develop an idea of producing clean, CO2-free, predictable energy through osmosis by mixing water and salt water through a semi-permeable membrane. The technology has surpassed offshore wind energy as a faster and cheaper way to reduce the world’s carbon footprint.
SaltPower will grow from six to more than 12 people in 2021, and you will become part of a team of highly specialized professionals developing the next leap in green energy.
With reference to the CEO, you will be responsible for your own department, concentrating on research and development within pressure retarded osmosis. You will be managing employees in the process department as well as test and lab facilities. Your department will be responsible for:
- Process calculations and guaranties for commercial projects
- Process development of tools and models
- Application for funding for R&D projects
- Patent application and portfolio management
- Initiating conference participation, publications and white papers
You will get to build a lab facility and ultimately be responsible for the test facilities and for the planning and execution of experiments. As part of the management team, you will also influence the strategic business development.
You are eager to contribute to the production of CO2-free, predictable energy and thereby contribute to the green transition. You want to change the future of energy and be a key team member, in a team that are first-movers in a new era of energy.
You have a background as a chemical engineer and a Ph.D., and you are an expert in the field of water and membrane technology. In short, you:
- Have experience with management of R&D
- Have managed large R&D projects
- Have cooperated with universities on R&D projects
- Have carried out patent applications and patent portfolio management
- Have developed and operated test facilities
It is essential, that you have a “can-do attitude” and are able to think outside the box to find solutions when facing challenges. You will take part in completing tasks outside of your expertise, and it is your second nature to help your colleagues. You are comfortable balancing between starting up and finishing processes.
