Head of Engineering, Simatek

Simatek is a leading manufacturer of industrial emission and air pollution control solutions. The company strive to be the preferred global partner for customers seeking high-quality, sustainable solutions, services and advisory within this field.
Simatek has approximately 100 employees; most are in Denmark, a strategic Engineer office in India, and salespersons are in essential markets.
As the organization has been growing massively for the past years, Simatek is now searching for a strong leader in the Engineering departments that can help take Simatek to the next level.
Your primary responsibilities will be:
- Assign tasks/projects to engineers and responsibility for the planning of resources
- Evaluate the progress of various projects and helps with troubleshooting if needed
- Responsible for engineering execution on time, spec., and budget
- Create and manage reports to give updates on projects and planning, to catch and correct deviations in time
- Provide clear and concise instructions to engineering teams
- Check the team’s work for technical accuracy
- Coordinate work with other managers and staff
- Communicate effectively with (internal/external) suppliers and customers
- Propose budgets for various projects
- Determine the need for training and talent development and train new employees if required
- Hire contractors if needed and build an internal team around Simatek values and needs
As Head of Engineering, it is crucial that you are a people-oriented leader profile with a structured mindset and the ability to work in a multicultural environment with teams located in different countries. You will be responsible for motivating your employees and ensuring knowledge sharing in the other engineering departments. Furthermore, you will help the organization to identify and handle obstacles as quickly as possible. Also, the right candidate is someone who dares to suggest improvements, take action and implement changes.
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Has a relevant background in the industry
- Has a master’s in mechanical engineering or similar
- Has a solid experience in mechanical engineering and a minimum of two years of leadership experience
- Is detail-oriented and with the ability to catch errors before they occur
- Has the organizational skills for keeping track of various budgets, employees, and schedules simultaneously
- Knows engineering tools such as FEA, CFD, CAD systems, document management etc.
- Is fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Understands Danish and can participate in a Danish conversation
