Following the acquisition of Cimbria, AGCO is looking to upgrade the sales organisation within the Grain and Protein-segment e.g. defining new and effective sales clusters. A key objective is cultivating the immature North African markets where Cimbria has identified a great potential for business development. As Cluster Lead you will report directly to the Regional Sales Director and play an essential role in expanding Cimbria-business.

Identify key-stakeholders and decisions makers
You are responsible for sales and management of the sales cluster in North Africa, and potentially Middle East, where you drive the strategic direction set within the defined geographic area. You spearhead the organisation with the main purpose to identify and build relationships with key-decisions-makers within potential customers and general contractors, in order to generate projects into the sales pipeline. At this point you will have one person who is Italian, Arabic and French speaking in direct reference. Finally, you are given responsibility for P/L, budget planning and forecast of sales within the area.

Your primary tasks are:

  • Develop Cimbria G&P project and product sales through establishing, developing and retaining customer relations
  • Identify and partner up with general contractors in the region to generate projects
  • Qualify leads and identify key-stakeholders and decision makers within customer and partner organisations in order to create business from them
  • Investigate and analyse customer and market trends and provide feedback to Product Management/Engineering
  • Manage, plan, and execute sales activities, identify potential direct sales opportunities and drive quotations together with the team
  • Engage the sales support team and align with commercial excellence to develop aftersales business with direct customers
  • Ensure competitive pricing in alignment with strategic marketing, manufacturing, and product management
  • Collect information on specific opportunity (e.g., requirements, budget, timelines, competition) to assess size, likelihood and complexity and add it into systems
  • Manage, develop, and build the regional sales team as business grows
  • Ensure well-working hand-over processes from Sales to Solutions Delivery

To succeed in the job, you need to partner up with general contractors within North Africa and Middle East, and close deals based on the existing potential and finally get involved in large infrastructure and port facility projects.

Experienced sales profile with an entrepreneurial mindset
Your educational background is a bachelor’s or master’s degree within the field of mechanical or process engineering. Alternatively, you have acquired deep experience within the processing industry. At least 8-10 years of experience in sales of complex machinery and process equipment is also required, several of them in the geographical region. It will be an advantage if you speak French and understand Arabic business mentality and culture. It will be a definite advantage with experience from either grain, seed, feed or food, and know-how about customers and processes in the processing industry. In addition, it will be in your favour if you have experience with sales management or as a minimum a strong ambition to succeed within sales management.

As a person you possess an entrepreneurial and independent mindset and are known for your strong abilities to develop and sustain strong customer relationships and ensure good cooperation towards internal partners e.g. KAM roles and Solution Delivery. You have a good understanding of cross-cultural differences especially between head office and cluster and know how to act in a large organisation.

You are capable of analysing and providing customer development opportunities and recommendations to support strategic growth initiatives including: Forecasting, Sales Funnel Management, defining KPI’s where required in collaboration with Sales Director, and follow-up on the performance as well as making sure that customer focus is not lost cross-functionally. Your colleagues describe you as quality minded towards customers and internal partners and always with an open and honest nature. You seek results in both short and long term, provide space for others, and take responsibility when needed. You have the strength to go into detail without losing the bigger picture and make thoughtful decisions in a pragmatic approach.

Your efforts will have direct influence on strategy and execution as you play a key role in a company, which is investing in both R&D and improving sales preconditions. Finally, being part of a global business, opportunities arise as you take part in improving AGCO’s market position as well as the organisation. Expatriation is an option for the right candidate.
