The Department of Design and Communication at the University of Southern Denmark in Kolding invites applications for an Assistant Professor position with a research and teaching focus in Library and Information Science. The position is placed at campus Kolding and is available from 1 February 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter. Applicants must demonstrate a record of, or the potential for active engagement with the theories and methodologies currently informing the study of libraries and librarianship. The applicant is expected to have qualifications within at least three of the following six areas:
The successful candidate is expected to participate actively in the department's research projects within the fields of libraries, information and documentation, and to take part in interdisciplinary collaborations. Furthermore, the applicant should be prepared to contribute to the development of the curriculum for the BA program in Library and Information Science but also within related programs such as the BA program in Information Science, IT and Interaction Design and the Master program in Web Communication.

Application, salary, etcThe successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations), Cirkulære om overenskomst for Akademikere i staten 2019 (the document only exists in Danish).
An assistant professorship is a 3-year position. Employment stops automatically by the end of the period. It applies for all positions that they will only cover teaching requirements from related areas, including interdisciplinary teaching activities and Cand. Negot. courses.
To qualify for the position you must have completed a PhD-degree by the time of employment.

The assessment report will subsequently be forwarded to the Head of Department who will assemble an appointments committee. An interview may form part of the overall assessment of the applicants' qualifications. The committee may request additional information, and if so, it is the responsibility of the applicant to provide the necessary material.
If the application does not meet the requirements mentioned above, the Faculty of Humanities may reject your application without further notice. Applications received after the deadline will neither be considered nor evaluated.
Shortlisting and tests may be used in the assessment process. Please note that only a shortlisted applicant will receive an assessment.
