The Department of Psychology, University of Southern Denmark, Odense, embedded within the Faculty of Health Sciences, invites applications for a vacant position as assistant professor in developmental psychology. The position is available for a period of 3 years, starting October 2020 or soon thereafter.
The Department of Psychology has been built up over the last 10 years and forms the research basis for the bachelor and master’s degree programmes in psychology at the University of Southern Denmark. Both degree programmes are fully developed and the first master’s students graduated in August 2015.
The research foci of the Department include Psychotraumatology and Interpersonal Violence, Pedagogical and Child Psychology, Cognitive and Biological Psychology, Architectural Psychology, Personality Psychology, and Medical and Clinical Psychology with a translational perspective.
The research programme is currently organized into 6 research groups, with our academic staff members participating in one or more of the research groups.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR
A highly motivated candidate who will contribute actively to the environment of the department through the following activities:
• Continued course development and coordination of the degree programmes in psychology and in particular in developmental psychology
• Teaching and supervision at the BSc and MSc level
• Assisting in setting up a Departmental / University Clinic that may involve research in developmental psychology – if the candidate has clinical experience
• Development of a dynamic research environment through the establishment of national and international collaborations
• Active participation in one or more of the research groups of the department
• Raising external competitive research funds
• Development of talents at the Department
The ideal candidate has:
• A master’s degree in psychology with a PhD degree and documented teaching experience
• Clinical experience
• Strong communicative and collaborative skills
• Willingness to expand on expertise and explore new avenues
• Enthusiasm and a strong ability for establishing relationships and networks
• An interest in working in an international and interdisciplinary environment
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Outreach qualifications, including the ability to attract external funding, are considered an advantage but not a requirement

The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).

Danish is not required initially however, must be mastered within the first two years of employment. In cooperation with the language centre “Lærdansk”, SDU offers specialized language courses.
