A permanent position as academically trained administrative technician is available at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Southern Denmark, Odense, from 1st March. 2021 or soon hereafter.
The employee will be part of Professor Frank Kjeldsen´s group and work in the area of nanotoxicology, peptide gas-phase chemistry, and chemical biology. The research group seeks an employee who can carry out a number of specific work and teaching tasks as well as participate in the group's research projects.
The content of the position:
- Implementation of new mass spectrometric instrumentation and setup of dedicated proteomics workflows.
- Contribute to all ongoing research activities of the group, including advanced mass spectrometric analyses, applications of novel chemistries to proteome research, and statistical analysis
- Update and installation of proteomics software
- Manage collaborative projects, both from internal and external sources
- Knowledge transfer within our section. In particular, help other groups with instrumental trouble shooting and software related to proteomics
- Acting as highly competent resource person to strengthening the collaborative capability between sections at the department.
- Co-supervise students and contribute to teaching activities
- The applicant is expected to some extent to assist in departmental teaching and to support daily departmental duties and infrastructure
- Assist in the creation of competitive research applications
Candidates within biological mass spectrometry, protein science or a related discipline are preferred. The successful candidate should have a strong background in analytical chemistry and quantitative mass spectrometry, protein purification, chromatographic separation of proteins and peptides. Experience with teaching/supervision at both theoretical and practical levels is expected. Applicants should be highly motivated, reliable and interested in working in an interdisciplinary and international environment. Finally, a good command of English is a requirement.
