Electrical Engineering Section at the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering of the University of Southern Denmark is located on the international campus in Odense and at the Centre for Industrial Electronics in Sønderborg, Denmark. The Electrical Engineering Section of SDU is a strongly growing and highly international and interdisciplinary group with the ambition to create a lighthouse in electrical engineering. The campus Odense is a fast-growing international community with an open Scandinavian culture, affordable housing and living costs.
Job description
We are seeking an active Researcher with an entrepreneur mindset and the passion to educate young students for the SDU Electrical Engineering Section located in Odense. This unit will, fully developed, count more than 25 members active in research, innovation, consulting and education. An ideal candidate is expected to have an excellent track record in most of the following topics:
and experience in creating successful collaborations between industry and academia, combined with a relevant Ph.D.
The position will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and preferably have a starting date of 1st March 2022. The appointment is for three years.
Qualifications
The candidates must have a PhD in Electrical Engineering. Commensurate with the seniority of the position applied for, we also expect:
- Experience with industrial collaboration
- Extensive research and publication track record
- A track record of attracting external funding
- Relevant teaching experience

Employment as an assistant professor requires scientific qualifications at PhD level.

- Advanced fault location and detection techniques in distribution systems and microgrids
- Signal processing and machine learning applications in protection
- Novel applications of microgrid systems, such as shipboards and aircrafts
- Real-time and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) simulation of microgrids and power systems using OPAL-RT, dSPACE or similar platforms
and experience in creating successful collaborations between industry and academia, combined with a relevant Ph.D.
