The Department of Economics (ECON) and Department of Sociology, Environmental and Business Economics (SEBE) at the University of Southern Denmark invites applications for a four-year position as assistant professor. The starting date is flexible, but we hope to welcome our new colleague on 1 September 2023.

Job description JEL Codes: D60/62, G11, H40, Q20, Q54/55/57 ECON is an international department with a strong tradition for excellence in research and teaching within the various areas of economics. The research, teaching, and dissemination activities at the department are organized within four groups: Econometrics and Data Science, Economic History, Macroeconomics, and Microeconomics. A more elaborated description of the department and the groups can be found on the department website. In addition to an international faculty focused on excellence in research and teaching in social sciences, SEBE has a strong commitment to interdisciplinary methods and approaches both within social sciences and across faculties. Activities are organized within three groups: the Management and Economics of Resources and the Environment (MERE) group, Markets and Organizational Behavior, and Sociology; and three interdisciplinary centers: The European Center for Risk and Resilience Studies, the Center for Rural Research, and the Danish Centre for Risk and Safety Management (joint with Aalborg University). A more elaborated description of the department and its groups and centers can be found on the department website. It is the aim of both the departments to conduct research of the highest international standard documented through 1) publications in internationally distinguished journals, 2) presentations at international conferences, 3) external funding from competitive programs and 4) dissemination with high visibility and broad societal impact. The departments emphasize high-quality research-based teaching using the most relevant teaching methods to enhance students' learning.
