ESG Public and Regulatory Affairs Director - Renewables, Logistics and Services

Opportunity

Maersk is looking for an ESG Public and Regulatory Affairs Director to join its team. You will be part of a dynamic and forward-looking team and have an opportunity to put your fingerprint on a challenging agenda which is shaping the future of logistics. We aim at actively identifying, developing and maintaining business opportunities, and mitigating risks. This is achieved by interaction with legislators, governments and organisations which impact on our business frameworks.

You will be part of the ESG Public & Regulatory Affairs team with a combination of independent assignments and team projects. Your focus will largely be on energy transition and securing progress on the production and supply of zero emissions fuels. You will also anchor our land side logistics and services regulatory outreach.

Whilst the position will require to be in Copenhagen a substantial part of the time, flexibility can be envisaged on location depending on the candidate.

Key Responsibilities

As ESG Public & Regulatory Affairs Director you will be responsible for:

• Developing and structuring Maersk’s global political outreach on renewable energy / Power-to-X along with dedicated colleagues across the business;
• Developing and structuring Maersk’s political outreach on land side logistics and services;
• Building and maintaining the internal and external professional networks needed to ensure timely awareness of regulatory developments, clarification of options available and delivery of results consistent with Maersk values;
• Analysing technical/ regulatory developments of significance for Maersk and preparing strategic outreach;
• Participating in external fora and representing Maersk publicly ;
• Coordinating and leading our voice in relevant trade associations.

Who we are looking for

You have knowledge of the political decision-making processes both at international and EU level. Knowledge of energy industry and / or logistics is a definite plus.

You have a proven track record and over 10 years relevant experience in handling regulatory issues from working for example in a consultancy, authority or a multi national company.

You are humble, a team player and have excellent skills in communication and cross-cultural collaboration in pursuit of desired results on the regulatory agenda, always with due respect for Maersk values and long-term objectives.

You are an independent and creative thinker ready to take responsibility while putting team results and collaborative efforts first.
