Signal Processing – Mixed Signal IC Architect
SonicEdge is a small start-up aiming at revolutionising the market for wearable speakers. We have a novel approach to sound generation and a MEMS speaker proving this in real life. Next step is to make sure we can drive the MEMS in an efficient way enabling great audio performance.
We are working together with external partners in the design of this low power, high performing, mixed mode ASIC, but we need to define and drive the architecture. This requires your expertise and commitment.
The job as IC Architect will be a mix of:
Your responsibility is that:
You will report to and work closely with our Director of Hardware development located in Denmark as well as the rest of our team in Israel.
You will be important in building the Danish site and will therefore have a big say in how we do things both workwise and socially. We aim at “Doing good work – Feeling good at work”.
In order to succeed in this role, we expect that you have worked with mixed signal IC design and signal processing for many years and have solid theoretical knowledge and practical experience with several of the following areas:
You also need to be able to work closely in a small team where we help each other and focus more on getting things done than on who is doing what.
Since we are an international team and our partners are also international you need to read, write and speak English.

The job as IC Architect will be a mix of:
- Managing the architecture and code of the complete signal chain from audio in to sound out - in MATLAB/OCTAV and in FPGA
- Hands on simulations, testing ideas and approaches finding the best solutions and compromises.
- Communicating with partners on solutions and challenges ensuring we get the best possible IC in time.
- Testing concepts and algorithms in FPGA platform and MEMS speaker.
- Verifying the ASIC performance when we get Silicon.
- Making your own coffee.
Your responsibility is that:
- ASIC architecture implements the functionality and performance we specify.
- We can have a verified and tested ASIC ready for production.
- We work efficiently in the right direction, clearly distinguishing exploration and implementation
