About the position:
We are seeking a bioinformatician skilled in analyzing large biological data sets, who enjoys working in a client-based environment. As a bioinformatician at Omiics, your key role will be performing data analysis related to transcriptomics. We expect you to be communicative, and your work to be transparent, when you are tackling analytical challenges. Your tasks include both coding and reporting activities for a broad range of studies across biological and biomedical disciplines. Work varies considerably depending on client and project. Become part of a small team where your contribution is important for the company's products and overall direction. While bioinformatics is your focus, you are also committed to contribute autonomous to daily tasks in an office as they arise.

Omiics ApS is a biotechnology spin-out from Aarhus University, which provides customized RNA Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) for customers in 9 different countries. We bring together the facilities, expertise and experience to provide seamless end-to-end RNA NGS support, our prime objective is to ensure easy accessibility and high-quality products. It is a small office environment, yet we are housed in INCUBA which provides “large company” comforts like a canteen and fitness facilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to detailed work plans and timelines
- Implement existing pipelines for basic and complex bioinformatic analyses
- Contribute to customer reports and sit-in on customer meetings when necessary
- Maintaining documentation of procedures and process configurations
Required Qualifications:
- Programming proficiency is essential in this position.
- Experience in R and demonstrated experience in other programming/scripting languages: Perl, Bash, Python;
- Knowledge of statistics and/or experience in database administration
- Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience with analysis of NGS data is required. This can take the form of a PhD with heavy bioinformatics or a masters with additional years of bioinformatic experience.
- Skilled problem solver - enjoys troubleshooting code with attention to detail
- Experience with Shiny apps or ONT platform is a plus, but not a requirement
