Inviting bright minds

Do you want to push the boundaries of your profession and develop your excellence in an open, collaborative, and empowering culture? We work to create a sustainable future and our inspiring projects and innovative solutions aim to set the standard among our peers. You will join a global company that has been growing successfully since its founding in 1945. Together, we lead and leave a positive impact on societies, companies, and people around the world.

You will join our Existing Bridges and Monitoring department

As our new junior bridge engineer, you will be part of a growing department based in Ørestad and a highly specialized team working with capacity calculations of existing bridges. Our mission is to enable bridge owners to make cost-effective decisions when doing maintenance strategies and enable them to utilize the full capacity of their asset. We do that by proving additional carrying capacity using our vast experience and advanced calculation methods, in close collaboration with our colleagues who specialize in conditions assessments. In one of our latest assignments we prolonged the service life of an existing concrete bridge that was doomed for replacement with another 15 years using the theory of plasticity when calculating the residual capacity.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Perform load capacity calculations on existing bridges, preferably using plasticity approaches and probability-based modelling
  • Participate in design teams on strengthening and renovation of existing bridges
  • Participate in design teams on new bridges
  • Assist in the digitalisation and automatization of our calculation programmes

Your starting point for constant growth

From the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development for you to grow within the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is:

  • M.Sc. in Structural Engineering or B.Sc. in Structural Engineering with the ambition to study a master’s degree part time
  • Thorough understanding of statics and math
  • Experience with programming
  • Experience with or interest in statistical analysis and probability-based modelling
  • Experience with FEM software
  • Strong communication skills in Danish and English

Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include: You know that the devil is in the detail, and you thrive working independently – because you are expected to carry the assignments, you are given, and will quickly become in charge of your own smaller projects. You are not afraid to have a technical discussion with colleagues that are world class within their area – because in Ramboll, the best argument wins. You are a good listener – because you will be working with colleagues from many different disciplines (and eventually clients) and you must be able to understand their needs. You are a natural and fast learner – because you will need to.
