Mechanical Lead Engineer for Design of Hydrogen Production

As Mechanical Lead Engineer for Design of Hydrogen Production at Ramboll, you will be part of an exceptional technical environment. You become part of the mechanical department within the mechanical and plant design discipline, which contributes to the development of green energy plants, thereby supporting the energy transition. The discipline is highly experienced and delivers engineering and consultancy services on a global scale within the energy sector.
The department is experiencing growth and consists of 30 employees today. The primary focus areas of the department are offshore wind, power-to-x, hydrogen, carbon capture, and gas distribution, and they cover all aspects of a project.
With direct report to Head of Department for Mechanical, you will manage your discipline team and work closely with other disciplines in a collaborative environment. In addition, you will, due to your knowledge and experience, have a key role in defining the area.
Your main tasks are:
For this position, you are an experienced engineer with excellent technical knowledge and very solid experience in mechanical design – preferably from the hydrogen production industry. It will be an advantage if you have good insight into the field of power-to-x, and knowledge of electrolyse or SMR and ATR is preferred.
You have experience as a project or team lead and have a good track record of delivering high-quality projects successfully on time and within budget. Moreover, you are familiar with multidiscipline projects.
You have a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
As a person, you are self-driven and take ownership. You are passionate about your field and work in a structured and meticulous way with projects. Moreover, you are a good team player and enjoy contact and engagement with clients and colleagues.

- Leading a project team across countries as Mechanical Discipline Lead on medium and larger projects.
- Working closely with the assigned Project Manager ensuring that quality and deadlines are met.
- Interacting with clients and stakeholders on technical solutions to ensure the best solution for the client.
- Coordinating with other disciplines to ensure optimal and effective execution and quality.
- Controlling the economy of the discipline by following up on the discipline’s progress and time consumption.
- Handling risks and opportunities.
- Ensuring that department execution workflows and design tools are updated and maintained.
