Global Procurement Supplier QSE and Development Outsourcing & Power Conversion
The Supplier QSE and Development (SQD) department is part of Vestas’ Global Procurement Organisation. Overall, we are responsible for supplier performance in relation to Quality and fulfillment for specific categories and commodities within a respective region. We support Sourcing in the qualification of new suppliers and the management of existing suppliers. We also work closely with Vestas Factory Quality personnel to resolve supplier related Non-Conformances.

Reporting to the Global SQD director for Outsourcing and Power conversions you will be an instrumental part of leading the execution of very large and highly complex SQD projects such as New Product Introduction (NPI), E2E cost reduction and similar. You will work closely together with a broad global network of SQD engineers from different regions.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to developing the sourcing strategies and coordinate supplier and component qualification activities on a global scale
  • Influence and lead the global commodity teams from an SQD perspective and represent the commodity globally
  • Be subject matter expert and support local SQD teams in following the agreed strategy
  • Train, coach and support the team of SQDs in the commodities
  • Drive HSE, APQP (including capacity), PPAP, cost of poor-quality reduction and continuous improvement across platforms and across regions
  • Be a trusted partner for your stakeholders
  • Lead supplier assessments for Safety & Sustainability compliance, Supplier performance management and Quality Improvement Plans (SQIP) in the supplier base
  • Develop suppliers’ capabilities and continuous improvement strategy within the commodities

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ relevant experience preferably within areas such as manufacturing, quality, and/or engineering combined with an Engineering or equivalent technical degree
  • Experience within or technical understanding of electrical commodities. Knowledge of power conversion is a plus
  • Strong experience with production and quality control tools such as APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma, 8D
  • Experience from the automotive industry is advantageous
  • Technical insight into electronic industry processes and relevant standards (IPC) & Lean systems and techniques is an advantage
  • Fluent in English verbally and written
  • Driving license B

Competencies

  • Strong ability to influence, inspire and motivate others
  • Lean knowledge - Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent
  • Auditor certification in ISO 9001 or higher standards will be preferred
  • Superior communication skills and ability to get your message through in a clear way
  • Self-driven and able to operate in an international environment embracing different cultures
  • Able to drive change and manage multiple stakeholders and suppliers

Additional information
Your work location will be Aarhus, Denmark and you should expect approximately 80 travel days p.a. primarily in Europe.
