Process Design & Lab in FLSmidth counts 55 employees who design, upgrade and optimise cement plants across the globe. We are continuously working to improve the design and actual operation of the cement plants benefiting customers productivity and the environment around us.

As a Process Engineer in FLSmidth, you will be part of the Process Design team situated in Copenhagen & Chennai, India – a highly motivated and dedicated team. We are responsible for the cement process related calculations in FLSmidth, from raw material crushing, handling and grinding to pyro-processing and subsequently cement grinding and storage. In cooperation with Sales and the customer, we select process solutions and machines and prepare the required technical process related documentation, e.g. heat and mass balances.

As a Process Engineer in FLSmidth, you will be part of the Process Design team situated in Copenhagen & Chennai, India – a highly motivated and dedicated team. We are responsible for the cement process related calculations in FLSmidth, from raw material crushing, handling and grinding to pyro-processing and subsequently cement grinding and storage. In cooperation with Sales and the customer, we select process solutions and machines and prepare the required technical process related documentation, e.g. heat and mass balances.
Your tasks will be:
- Designing and dimensioning new cement plants and upgrade projects
- Servicing plants under commissioning and operation
- Participating in negotiations with customers and give advice on chemical and process control issues
- Evaluating the performance and suggesting optimisations
- Travelling to sites or sales negotiations up to 40-60 days per year
You have:
- A strong educational background within chemical engineering
- Solid knowledge of unit operations, control engineering and chemical process engineering
- Strong IT skills and experience in data analysis, modelling and programming
- A structured working approach, skills and ability to work with the team to get things done and deliver on time
- Demonstrated ability and motivation to gain new skills and willingness to share your competencies within FLSmidth
- A solution-oriented approach to tasks, advocating for technology best practices – thrives on understanding and solving complex issues
- Advanced communication skills, able to fluently navigate in English both written and spoken and with colleagues and customers.
- Other languages such as Arabic, French or Spanish would be a distinct benefit
